Im using a DA at 1800 DPI and 1000hz polling(i think, i uninstalled the driver after setting it so hopefully it stayed at 1000hz), with 3/11 windows and like 1.35 in game. 40 CM of mouse pad gets me like 200, maybe 210 degrees of in game rotation. Anyone else play this low? I went this low like 2 months ago because i thought my sense was too high, but now i'm seeing most people playing higher, and wondering if I was wrong. anybody know any pros that play this low, or if there is a list somewhere with there mouse configs and such.
also if any of you cal o rejects post "DOONT COPPY THE PR0'S JUST USE YOUR OWN" im gonna fly to whatever awful place you live and kick you in the nuts, thanks
Like i use 400 dpi, 3 ingame sens and like something for windows i dunno, not on my normal cpmputer.
Should i put like more dpi, less ingame sens, and less winows sens? Or is it all the same?
*bleh sorry, i just got a gaming mouse, and i didn't know what dpi was, i did some reading around and its like precsion and stuff? more accuracy. right? i have a copperhead, should i crank it up to 2000 dpi, and lower everything else?
I know its low, thats why i'm seeing whether or not any well known players play that low. I might've gone a little too low and screwed up close range. messing around in deathmatch i definitely missed some close in shots because i ran out of mouse pad, and also because im horrid.
It depends. If I feel I don't get much close action (cbble, d2) , I've got a sensitivity that turns 120 degrees on 40cm mousepad. If I feel that I'm going to be close to the enemies (nuke, train) and have to move a lot to check a lot of corners and boxes, then I use sens that turns 200 degrees with 40cm mousepad.
Try to find a sensitivity that allows you to move comfortably, be quick, aim to the left or the righ eye (you really should see which eye you are aiming and be able to do so) and keep up with close combat. I think 180 with 40cm is extremely low nowadays and the close action could be pretty ugly but headshots are very easy and the mouse moves where ever you want it to like in a millisecond. I don't know how someone could miss a headshot with 180/40cm sens. I've tried to get used to 270/40cm sens but it's too fast for me (played with extremely low sens for 9 years). I find that to be the most ideal sens for shooting far and keeping up with close combat but I'm not used to it yet. Maybe in few months.
TBH I would suggest raising it a bit if you are having issues with close combat. Most pros in 1.6 use between 3 and 4 ingame, and most pros in source use between 1 and 2 due to the higher dpi mice available (this all being at between 4 and 6 windows).
So take that for what it's worth, I went from 1.6, 5win, 400dpi to 3.9 with the same windows and dpi and I have improved substantially, just due to how easy it is to move the crosshair anywhere. :/
