1) Is mouse fix still needed today, or is there a better equivalent method to take off Window's Mouse Acceleration? 2) [I recently got a new laptop with Vista.] Is a mouse fix still needed for Window's Vista, if I unchecked the "Enhance pointer precision" in the mouse options, or is this totally something else? 3)Is the mouse fix needed for Linux, say Ubuntu. 4)Does playing CS 1.6 or CS:S on Linux pose any disadvantages to Windows?; there are instructions on how to do it on CS Planet
#11 question 4 means does playing on linux give you more lag and less performance; for example incompatibility of graphics card driver, can't turn off mouse acceleration, or something else?

leave pointer precision off
I believe the "windows mouse fix" was a made-for-xp fix. vista may need it, but would probably require another fix. Same for ubuntu/linux.
