i have a harddrive that has windows on it and all and put into this computer. how can i boot from this harddrive instead of the 1 that was originally connected to my pc?
#3 i tried that, it wont boot into it. it keeps restarting the computer on me.
#5 i tried that too but i cant connected it as master only because it has a different wire that connects it. the fat wide one, instead of a small thin one.
If it's a windows that was installed with different PC components, it will only boot loop on you. You need to boot off the windows xp cd with only your second hard drive connected. Go through the XP install sequence, when it ask you to press enter to continue... you do exactly that, then it will ask you to press f8 for EULA and then you should get a screen that says "There is already a windows xp installation on this hard drive, would you like to repair it" then you should be pressing R. It will then repair the windows INstallation to work with your PC.

If you can't find it in your boot menu it isn't connected properly.
