Mine is that 1.6 is getting stronger and that the steam valve stats mean sh!t. All these source kids are going to realize their game is garbage and come crawling back to 1.6 and complain about the recoil graphics ect... in general 1.6 is getting stronger, it just had a slow blow when all the teams switched over to source.

Well basically the only place 1.6 is suffering is in the United States, and personally I think that ESL coming to the states is the best thing that can happen for the US. Once they get an office and staff here they will create the all popular Pro Series and open up more lans and what not. Not saying that this is going to happen, but I for one hope it does. Other than that 1.6 is super strong and will continue to be that way just look at all the people switching from source to 1.6, names such as: alex, da bears, all of complexity, real and element, zet, etc, and many more to come I'm sure. So just keep playing guys because I'm pretty sure 1.6 will be having more glory days to come.
What game could honestly replace cs1.6? Almost every other fps out there has a struggling scene - cod4, tf2, ect. This game is still triving after years of being in competition simply because nothing can ever match it. Until that day comes, keep playing the game you love.
See the weird thing about counter-strike today is that all the top teams in America are pretty much just as skilled compared to what the old teams were back in the day (Talking about aim wise). The reason everyone considers '04-'06 the glory years is because while everyone knew how to aim teams actually ran strats and made the game entertaining to watch in that aspect.
Now we have people like n0thing who can frag lights out but is on a team that runs nothing close to what older teams use to do. It's more hitting a site and trying to gets the frags without having to much to do.
I am not saying that is a bad thing but it takes a little out of CS.
How in hell is source more random the 1.6...lawl its just more accurate people say its easier the answer there is no its just more accurate and u see yourself shoot the person ur shooting at and not the model dying 10 feet ahead of where u shot lol.
I think it was kind of good for the temporary Source switch because now it feels like CS is being revamped with teams and players coming back, though this has happened all along really...players coming and going.
how long will 1.6 last?

this honestly doesn't compare to what was going on back then and the level of competition.
muahahaha
7 or 8 years.
Why would it die now?
