I think what ESL is doing is great, but we should be weary about the big announcement that ESL has made. I do appreciate what they are doing in making computer gaming more accessible towards fans and still keeping things "professional". ESL to me is the Anti-CGS. They are still saying with the community on WC3 and 1.6, holding huge tournaments and still keeping the rules we've been accustomed to for the past 6 years.
CGS made the biggest mistake by giving players salaries. I think in some sports salaries make sense, but the truth is our community is not ready or at the point to where leagues should be handing out salaries. If organizations want to contract players, that's one thing, but giving a company like CGS a monopoly on the best talent in America especially is one of the stupidest things that coL and 3D have decided to do.
It amazes me that CPL and WSVG died. Rally behind the ESL and stop supporting CGS. People need to realize that ESL might be the best thing that has happened to American counter-strike since the advent of ESWC and possibly CAL when it was important. However, we need to understand and be weary of the fact that ESL could very well cease operations after 1 year if they are not as successful as they'd like to have been.
I still have nothing but disgust towards the American teams like coL and 3D that left the 1.6 since to go to source. And frankly, shame on moto for the BS he has been spewing about how source is a great game.

esl is bad, they exploit their molopoly position and make their users pay. thats what its like in europe and it will be the same in the states once esl takes over.
