I really haven't watched demos like i use to in forever like since 06. Even then I didn't really understand the whole euro vs USA style of play, but we would always get raped lol. So can somebody who is somewhat knowledgeable about both styles please explain.
What does a euro player do that a American player doesn't?
How do euros play different than Americans?
I'm really curious this seems like a pretty interesting topic to talk about.
Most euro teams now play methodical and like to pick off and play it slow, rushing sites when they know they are weak. They're good at knowing when to do what. Another thing i noticed is they always keep their cool. When they're down they never seem to lose their focus, they just keep trying even if nothings working. When i see a lot of american teams they seem to panic when they are down a lot. As CT they seem to try to stay random, but they often work together more as ct and are willing to leave things open if they don't think the T's will go there. Also I think euros use better eco strats and also have better pistol strats over all.
Europe: Great Positioning, Complex and well timed Strats, Patience, Top Notch Aim. They also move and play better as a team. Frags will usually be around the same with no one really lagging behind.
USA: Aggressive, Good Aim, Simplistic Strats. American teams seem to rely on the entry kill and converge on the site style of play. They are exremely aggressive and it sometimes hurts their positioning.
#1, x3o has a very european style of play... EG is the epitome of the american style, they just rush a lot and hope that they dont lose too many on entry so they can hold the site
just watch look at SK for the definition of euro play, great teamwork, loads of flash peaking on CT, great use of flash bangs to move up from position to position on T side, great fakes and repositioning, with the ability to play super aggressive when needed.
It's the truth dude, euro teams play much more passively and carefully work there ways into sites with planned flashes and peeks. US teams (EG is a great example) like to fly around on ladders and bhop around.
American teams get hot headed and push on picks instead of thinking how best they can benefit from them. Its similar to how the UK plays unfortunatly, everyone wants to be a hero and run around and win the round on their own.

yes I AM RIFT-1d
Euros : slow methodical aiming not much spraying alot of h$ o and the top teams can consistently practice against eachother
well maybe that's why they were a top team.
asia = aim and overall good players
americas = clutch play and agressive style
that's pretty much it
complexity and 3d played like euros so thats probably why they could compete with them

west coast teams play different to east coast,
sweden plays different to germany
asia, again plays different to us all.
from what ive seen though, German teams appear to be very reliant on teamwork even more so than other teams.
It's not like every single team from one continent or country plays one way. Plus there's something called anti-strating, which lots of teams do.
