I've been looking for an affective ab workout for a long time I've tried everything nothing gives me that much of a challenge or anything. I have to do 5 x more then the recommend reps and sure the next day ill feel the burn but nothing is really toning my abs. Its not a time factor because ive tried many differnet workouts after some got really not challenging over the period of a couple months. Any of you guys know affective and good toning abdominal workouts? And no like excersise ball i dont have any equipment at all.. no bars or anything.
doing situps is not the only thing you need to do to tone your abs, its all about losing body fat.. you have abs, they are just covered by fat.. if you want to lose the fat you need to watch what you eat and do workouts that burn the fat thats covering your muscles
If you want to really see the muscles it helps if you throw in a jog with the continued ab work outs. The ab work outs will build the muscle, and the runs will remove whatever fatty materials are hiding them. Good luck!
#4 i didnt say you were fat, everyone has fat on them.. if you want your abs to show you need to get your body fat % to around 8-10%
watching what you eat is very important, if you take in too much fat then more fat will get stored and you will have excess fat on you.. especially if you are not very active and are not burning the calories.. you have to burn a lot of calories if you want to lose your body fat.. that means cardio work outs for 30-40 minutes so raise your metabolism
Man.Gotfrag seems like it is filled with alot less trolls which is awsome! still the occasional smart comment which is perfectly fine but seems like an overall better comunity.People staying on topic, other people actually helping strangers! its awsome.
And to number 1 i would say the greatest thing for ab's other than diet and ab workouts is running.I have been kickboxing for 2 years and neither have nor want abs but a world champion fighter i train with said running is essential to gain abs. Most people have them there is just a sliver of fat that only running will get rid of.Also some great underated ab excercises are leg raises.
although I dont do cardio ive always had abs my whole life. Cardio however is key in building ur abs as most people have said. Not only that but continuously doing different ab work outs, don't just stick to one, do a whole bunch of different ab work outs, some for ur lower, some for ur upper, some for both. I found leg raises to be good as mentioned above, also just crunches as well although most people don't like them. Look up on the internet theres tons of different ab workouts, do them all!
running doesn't help abs, running burns fat. you need to run at least 20-30 minutes before you start losing fat because you need to use up the glycogen stores first. its more than being fat or skinny, you still need to change how you eat
Listen to #2 + #10... he is absolutely correct. If your body has more than 8-10% body fat, you wont those 6pack abs unless you flex. Even if you are slimmer than the average person, that still might not be enough to get natural abs (without flexing). The average adult has about 15-17% body fat, where as obese people have around 25%+.
Continue to do your ab workout.. but make sure you start to do alot more cardio from now on to tone down on body fat.
If you are curious about your exact body fat index, just goto some kind of fitness center and just ask (ie. 24 hr fitness).
The whole thing with abs is you wont be able to get them unless you trim down on your fat in that region. Running is recommended, or if your lazy after a good workout you could always sit in a sauna. Also just because you don't feel burn or sore the next day doesn't mean your not doing it effectively. When you continuously workout after the first week you wont feel sore or a burn in that area as you did the first time you worked out. Always try different exercises or else your muscles will get used to the norm and it wont be as effective.
Ab definition is all about body fat. It has very little to do with training, though it'll help strengthen your abs but it won't make them show. Making your abs show is about body fat %.
#19, sitting in a sauna does not burn fat, all it does is makes you lose water weight and unless you want to walk around dehydrated and uncomfortable its completely pointless
as far as "your not feeling sore because your muscles are used to it" yes you are right, but muscle soreness has absolutely nothing to do with effectiveness of the workout
ya all i was saying is sauna makes you sweat like running so its lazy way you shouldnt only sitin the sauna lol. but yea thats what i meant, just because youre not sore doesnt mean the workout isnt working. just that you only get sore the first few weeks of starting to work out

Make sure those legs dont touch the ground
Eat salad to see them.
Note: 600 squat and deadlift may cause unwanted side effects such as power, mental strength and pain tolerance. Please see a doctor beforehand.
