Halo wasn't that competitive when Final Boss and the Ogres were stomping everyone tourney after tourney. Halo 3 has become more competitive, but it still doesn't compare to CS where the top 6 teams in the World right now can all beat each other at any time.
KSHARP SAVE US!!! "rift is the smartest man on these forums when ksharp isnt posting, dont argue."
I think hes really refering more to how it is in the us. But I think theres more competitive players in 1.6 still, theres just more cash in halo3 in america.
ya this kid on my floor who works for MLG is trying to argue with me that halo has more clutch moments than cs yet when i ask how many international events are played he says "we go to canada" in a very confident tone... then i tell him about cs events
he obviously doesnt follow cs much. the kid who works for MLG was like "no dude he plays cs". but i can tell hes just trying to make his argument for halo stronger by telling me BS
should argue this in a halo forum. most people have probably never played any game other than cs (given that so many think source is the worst game ever.) ss's would be nice if the threads get deleted.
Halo 3 became more competitive because of the online play ... and the fact that it is the easiest of all the versions. It is kind of, for example, when 1.5 switched to 1.6 people said 1.6 was easier and more "noobs" could get better. Same thing with halo3 I guess ... just an example though.
Halo 3 = More competitive now because its possible for more people to be good at the game. At least imo anyway.
i don't know where the hell every one is getting this whole him saying cs is less competitive. he specifically says that cs has less large leagues with the loss of CGS and WSVG. He also goes on to say that the most money is located in playing Halo. lets face it Halo has been better promoted and dominates the North American scene in large money tournaments with a set schedule and no wondering when the next big lan is gonna be. The competitiveness in Halo is larger also in North America due to the fact that any of the top 10 teams can win at any time where as in CS its traditionally 1-2 top teams vying for the chance to hit the bigger lans in which international scene is taken into play. Anyone of you can go in and say they can go pro in 2 days but if anyone actually follows it the top teams have been at the top since it began you dont see random teams coming outta no where and winning a tournament. Read into something and actually listen to an interview before you start talking crap over nothing
or we can just say that cs has far better gameplay and halo is only popular because kids today want good graphics and dont wanna spend time developing strats and waiting around for the other team. they want instant explosions and rockets and unlockable armor styles, guns, online ranks, and sh*t like that which cs doesnt have because it isnt a kids game and takes skill and brains.
#42 where the hell in my comment did i mention any of that, i love cs i love the game play there differnt games on differnt systems, again read before you open your mouth
and also strats are still highly used in halo so i dont know where the hell your getting that, there just not used in the same manner
The first week i played halo 3 i won a lan tourney for 500 dollars pz.. they asked me how do you play so good, i said "The other players in here dont play CS"
I think it is pretty pointless (and impossible at that) to say any one game is decidedly more competitive than another. Both Halo 3 and Counter-Strike have their share of top teams.
Teams like Final Boss that were once considered unbeatable ended up showing signs of mortality; very similar to the Schroet Kommando team of 2003 after their year long near unbeaten streak.
It is pointless to bring up the D-pad as some sort of arguing point that shows console FPS games are not as competitive. What keeps it even with CS etc. is the fact that all players must use the exact same device to play with, and therefore are all on an even keel. Certain players learn to master using it better than others, just like in CS (those that can make certain jumps time after time flawlessly ie nuke red rock.)
halo pro talks about cs
interview part 2, he talks about how halo is more "competitive"
daniel pwnd rodney.
Player intensity? Game rules? Seriously
halo competitiveness due to money
maybe he's talking about the number of prepubescent kids in the games
OOPS
(if you honestly support halo/gears/etc. over starcraft/cs/etc. you are retarded)
and there's no help with aiming in cs...
a halo pro's aim is about equivalent to a CS cal-o kid's aim
