If you guys haven't already played and beaten Mafia I suggest that you do. I don't care how you 'acquire' the game (torrent, buy, borrow, steal), but this game really is one of the best single player games ever created. The storyline ALONE makes this game WELL WORTH playing. The missions are great, the gameplay is amazing, driving around can be a bit boring at times but it's worth playing. The environment is engaging, the cutscenes are captivating and this game willThis game is so suck you in once you get starting. The game gets good fairly quickly (after 1 or 2 slow missions that are quick to beat). There is a racing mission that may take you a few hours to beat but you'll eventually get it, or you can download a saved point after the race mission. PLEASE PLAY THIS GAME.

Take into consideration that when you start the game it is during the 1930's and the cars are SLOW. As you progress and the storyline progress the technology gets better and the cars get FASTER and COOLER. You will enjoy storing up cars in your garage and walking around deciding which whip you will roll out in during missions with your Mafiosos and after time you will probably enjoy driving around the city in your disgusting top-of-the-line cars.

If you're in high school, this game may inspire you to learn programming or get into video game development. It's that good.

Please get, play and beat Mafia.
Mafia II is coming out soon and you will have wished that you played Mafia I.

Also, Duarte is a feggit for not playing Mafia.

Yeah it does suck a little, but it's always fun ramping over draw bridges when the barges go through. And during one of the missions where you have to drive up a big hill it's worth it because you steal that guys car in Oak Hill ;o

I bought this game about 6 years ago....re installed it a month ago and i'm playing it again. about to get mafia 2, thats why :)

The intro alone, with the music....more epic than any game of its time for sure.

Yeah I beat it twice now and saw BOTH endings haha ;o I didn't even know there was an alternate ending. I crapped my pants when I saw the new ending though.

OMG I fucking loved this game when I was younger. Randomly saw it at a Costco and decided to pick it up, especially because there was no Godfather game at the time and I wanted to be a mafioso.
Hills are a bitch, but overall this is one of my all time favorite games. Also, fuck Sam.
I let my friend borrow it awhile back, and it was still in his possession when he went into the army, so I'd have to download it if I wanted to play again :[

#19 when you're chasing Morello to the airport @ the end, if you have a FAST car and drive it well he wont even GO to the airport he drives straight .. to where .. i don't want to tell you :D haha it'll ruin it

The best mission is DEFINITELY the bank robbery. I remember sittin on the subway train on the way to the bank getting PUMPED. I was so excited to stick up a bank hahahhaa

I always loved the Motel collection mission the most. The sniper and ship missions rank up there as well. Always hated the dock mission though.

Yeah the ship was pretty cool and the political assassination was definately awesome but the jail was pretty nerve-wracking... I ALWAYS felt like there were people in EVERY room and i was going to get RAPED ... they definitely did a great job designing that jail lol...

I like the 2 small missions where you had to walk the guys daughter home and the other one where you chased the guy inside the apartment building and then he sneaks out the window and you chase him outside haha ..

The hotel was GREAT.

Visiting Rich People was AMAZING!~ The mission where you start outside that mansion with a baseball bat and all the people on patrol have pump shotguns ...

...The controls are a bit too limited sometimes though :)

I never had too much problem with the controls ... the biggest problem which I ran into was that during 2 missions I just couldn't figure out where to go and what to do and there's no indicators or tip boxes or anything ... they said it's something that they're going to address for Mafia II ... but the second time I beat it I had no problems at all.

i got the game yesterday, its really really cool, its amazing that it was made in 2002, its so far ahead of its time.. feels like a game that came out recently thats how good it is

Mafia 2 looks great, it's coming out on October 31st I believe, but anyway it'll never beat the first one.
