Okay. We all love 1.6. Agreed? Agreed. We all hate CS:Source. Agreed? Agreed.
When you open steam games list, you can see both games---but there is a problem. Each game is given a "Metascore" rating. What do you notice? Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source have the same Metascore...
As we all know, this is a load of blowhard horse sh%#. The idiots at Steam obviously gave them the same rating because they want people to view the games as equal...which they are not. It's actually disgusting that Counter-Strike does not have something +95, because, after all, it is the most popular and active FPS game of all time and was practically the launching pad for Steam itself.
Now we can't CHANGE the Metascore, but if you click the Metascore there is another rating for each of the games.
The only way we might REALLY have an impact on changing this rating is if we rate the games 10 or 0. So I'm asking you to please rate Counter-Strike: Source a 0 and Counter-Strike a 10. This isn't going to change the world, but I'm sure it might make a few of us feel better, and I think it'd be great if we could possibly bump Counter-Strike: Source below a 9.0 rating.
Give it a shot, you have no reason not to. It's free to rate the games, no signing up for an account and no logging in.
These are the links you need so that you can rate the games when you aren't at home, or don't have steam on the particular computer which you're using.
As you can see, Counter-Strike is already a 9.2 and Counter-Strike: Source is a 9.2. :D With 400 votes of 0, we can actually decrease Counter-Strike: Source from a 9.2 all the way down to an 8.8. And with those same 400 votes we can change Counter-Strike from a 9.3 to 9.5 assuming that the rating will round up.
Just to see if we can ACTUALLY even CHANGE these ratings (is Steam that corrupt?), give Blue Shift a 10 rating. It's only got 174 votes. hahaha
LONG TERM GOALS: - Decrease Counter-Strike: Source below a 9.0 rating - Increase the rating of Half-Life: Blue Shift above the ranking of Counter-Strike: Source - Decrease the Counter-Strike: Source User Rating below the Critics Rating

I tried to do this but whenever I click "Rate this game" or whatever I get this message in the pop up:

Not sure. Seems like every few minutes or maybe 30 seconds. Right after I voted the voter # didn't change but it did a few minutes later when I checked the 2nd time.
Alright cool. Already spreading the word and written up a good review for CS(and an alternating bad review for CS: S). And yeah HL: BS was probably the shortest HL-based game I've ever played but it certaintly was a lot more enjoyable than any given moment spent with CS: S.
Remember that, #38. Definatly a creative use of the HL engine. I wonder who came up with the actual scripted sequences for the HL series because some of them were out of this world back then...
The intro to HL: OF was great as well. Definatly a lot longer than both of the other games but still a great one. The game was also huge and was a lot more enjoyable, almost even more than the original HL with all the new additions the HL engine had been given(such as new NPCs, weapons, and so forth). Hell I'm going to go play it right now for the hell of it.
#44 has it. HL1 had a great story. HL2 was enjoyable but Hl1 definitely was just on a whole other level. HL2's highlight was Ravenholm whilst HL1 in it's entirety was a highlight.
