This is sort of an article i'm writing, dedicated to those die hard gamers who want to be in the high tier gaming leagues but cant seem to get there.
1) So you want to be a pro? Anyone can tell you this answer so im going to make it short and simple. -play a lot of Deathmatch / aim map -Watch a lot of demos -keep striving to learn new things (this includes learning to bunny hop, maneuver in certain areas, and use certain nades to your advantage) -keep consistent, don't keep changing your sensitivity, resolution, cross hair size, or what ever just because it works for someone else, everyone is different so stay with what works best for you
2)So you’re good now, but you need a team? This is the area a lot of people make mistakes in, they assume that they can find a team in #findclan or whatever channel it is and suddenly destroy everyone. right? WRONG! "The best team is a team of friends " Remember that. If you are starting up and want a really good team that wont die on you, you better make sure its a bunch of friends. This will ensure team work, and well balanced game play. And if they are local friends thats even better cause now you can lan with each other.
3) strats -Watch demos as a team and bring back strats or certain tricks you found out so that you and the team develop. -DO NOT COPY STRATS rather take parts of it and collaborate it into the team style of play. A big mistake teams make is they just copy strats they see other teams do, but this just leads to huge misunderstanding and can even lead to the team breaking up if any one player dies. You have to always adapt to any situation no matter what strat was called. If the strat caller or a key player dies, fine, move on and figure out how to maneuver so that you can win the round.
4) practice - scrim with the team at least 3-5 scrims a day - try out certain boosts or "play spots" if you are watching a site with another team mate - scrims are practice, so always try new things in scrims and see how it works whether you die or win its practice, this is the area where you can make mistakes.
5) Nerd Rage This is a huge factor that kills alot of teams or makes them lose alot of rounds. - Hackers, yes we see them daily and we cant do anything about it but it doesn’t help if all you do is cry "hes hacking bro!" its just going to annoy the team and cause more problems, rather find out how you can overcome that player and win as many rounds as possible. I’m almost 100% certain if you can beat a team with a hacker on their team you can beat any team. - Losing clutch rounds or you being the main factor of the round lost. Rather than you or your team yelling at each other try and find out what you did wrong and don’t resort to "SHIT SERV NO REG", resort to how you played that round and what you could have done to do better. And always be open to ideas from your team as this will also help you and your team improve.
Lastly have fun, join a team with friends, and enjoy the competitive aspect of the game.
my advice would be to play a game other than counter-strike with your team. i used to play a game called RYL2 with my teamates oXide and miraGe and that helped our chemistry in cs.
teams like coL and 3D used to play wow together and i suppose there's a reason behind that besides becoming bored of cs
to become good at cs you must realize that currently, your terrible. You know little to nothing of the game and strive to learn and progress every day.
Honestly, if you want to go pro, you need to play with people who are better than you, so if you're top-fragging and playing the smartest when playing with your friends and you want to go pro, leave. That's the only way you're going to improve fast.
Honestly I think that's retarded but that's how you become a pro.
Also, even if you're the smartest player but can't aim you'll fail horribly so try to work on both your aim (crosshair placement, spray control, flick shots) and smarts (angles, timing, spams, etc).
#19 I think pugging has always been a good way to play matches/scrims. Take a look @ SLP ripping up CEVO-Pro and they don't even practise that much, it's simply because they're friends and they know each other really well, that's probably the key to successful teamwork.
the hardest part IMO is finding 5 cool mature people. in my opinion the only way to go is if you have 5 good friends that you did not meet playing cs but just friends. Then all 5 people decide they want to go pro. after that it's just a matter of a lot of hard work and some intelligence.
#23 no, the only reason why you like #21 is because you're in vent with him. Yeah, I see you.
Sad how sehtick and fodder ride each others nuts in vent all day, every day. My friend goes in there frequently and tells me you faggots are always in a channel together talking about making threads/ mentioning each other.
btw sup bw0pe.
Of all the pains that pains me most... you pain me the most..

Nice article. You should emphasize the nerd rage and don't copy strats parts :)

2.have fun
3.have fun =)
need skill
need aim
my words of wisdom....
to become good at cs you must realize that currently, your terrible. You know little to nothing of the game and strive to learn and progress every day.

well you can just ask mr, di4mond and you will get the answer of how much effort and bullcrapping is required to make a pro team(his team had face)
This is why pugging is the best answer for team playing, it's simple and it's effective in every possible way.
I think copying strats can definitely work if your team is good enough to understand and execute them.
Nonetheless every team is different so who cares\knows =)
Just my opinion :]
#21 shut up. no one likes you.
