"Earlier this year the Friday Night Games of the ESL Pro Series in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Nuremberg were also banned for quite the same reason. It looks like there are still hurdles to overcome between the German politicians and competitive gaming."
Anyone can be a hero if you dig keep inside of you and bring out the good in you
#7 I'm not going to argue, the title was misleading as it wasn't banned completely obviously. However the "this state" was talking about the state that held that event. Other states have done the same, and there's rumor that it's going to continue to occur around the country. What's the point of your accusation?

yeah they always want to ban video games from time to time. don't think this will last. just because a few guys went school shooting and played counter-strike
#6 is right, hitler would be the last person on earth to support censorship
#21... Sweden,Denmark,Poland, etc are still around.
I think the German teams can still play in international tournaments, just not local. Plus they didn't ban Counter-Strike, just a few LAN tournaments :P

germany bans cs?
Most of their important LAN's are banned because of killing games such as counter-strike and WC3, what a blow to competitive gaming.
EDIT: This was before the article was posted on GotFrag.
glad lans still legal everywhere else that matters

THIS STATE being used to imply the obvious (or so I thought). and I used "THOSE" (plural) to encompass what you just quoted.
Gratz.
