Don't hate on WWFOG before you at least try to convince Mr. Winchester to pick up CS and explain to him why it is a far better game to support and have used...
It sounds like Mr. Winchester has the right idea but the selection of the actual titles being backed by the WWFOG seem a world apart from the ones that should be. If the WWFOG would like to see more longlasting and solidfied success than the CGS did, then they better not just listen to the E-sports community but actually become a part of it like any good manager of an organization in this industry has already done. Look at Jason Lake... the reason many see him as one of the most successful and highly prestiged managers in this industry next to Craig is because he was a part of the community before he became a manager and he understood the do's and don'ts of this industry.
In my opinion, the best games the WWFOG should back and pick up is:
Quake Live- It is free of charge. And not only that it could potentially, with WWFOG's backing, reunite the dispersed Quake scene. It would definatly be interesting to see some old and new faces clash this time around such as Thresh(the first professional gamer) who dominated the early days of the Quake scene and Fatal1ty his predecessor who took the entire Quake scene after his reign go head to head. So many old and new rivalaries encompass the Quake scene and to unite them all under one roof would really make for an interesting show. The Quake scene is very colourful and diverse. There isn't always the same old faces clashing over and over. It is always interesting to watch a Quake match because you never know what will happen. Will it be the underdog? Who knows? Thats the fun of it. Take LoSt-CaUzE(Rafik) proved that with his blowout performance at WCG or more importantly against his idol Fatal1ty(whom is no pushover) right after that. Fatal1ty, LoSt-CaUzE, Stermy, really all of them sort of came out of nowhere and took the Quake scene by storm. The diversity of the Quake scene is indescribable. There is always an undiscovered talent right around the corner and if WWFOG picked up Quake Live that would serve as an excellent outlook to bring out the best of both the Quake scene and the E-sports industry as a whole.
Counter-Strike- It is an absolute classic. It is easily the cornerstone of the entire E-sports industry. The CS scene is alive and well and very diverse which is home to more talent, rivalries, and surprises than most other gaming scene within the entire E-sports industry. Looking back we had so many good times, TEC, eoL, 3D, NiP, SK, coL and now we still have much vibrant and great organizations such as fnatic and WMF. The Counter-Strike scene is more consistently active as a whole than any other gaming scene in the entire E-sports industry. It has not let up one bit over the past decade. However there are a lot of underated and unknown talents that wander about the Counter-Strike scene and if the WWFOG were to pickup would definatly make for some interesting upsets if given the chance through the WWFOG.
Starcraft- It is a great classic and at the same time a very maticulous one. The Starcraft scene has had great diversity all throughought and due to the immense popularity of it is also very difficult for undiscovered talents to break into. If the WWFOG were to pick it up that would serve as a great port for new talent to arise. Starcraft has selectively made a great living to a select few such as Moon for the past while now and has taken on an extreme, mainstream prestige in Korea. Yet it just never took off as well as it did in other parts of the world(at least on the same scale) because of the difficulty of getting out there for all the undiscovered talents lurking about the Starcraft scene. If the WWFOG were to pick up and back Starcraft it would serve as a great conductor for the entire Starcraft community as a whole and really pick up a lot of energy all throughout the world other titles such as CS has.
On top of that I think Mr. WInchester should always keep in mind to stay true to the WWFOG motto. Do not taint the faith of the E-sports industry if you are not willing to back it up. Mr. Winchester should take it upon himself to emerse himself in the E-sports industry as a member of it just like everybody else so he can embrace the history and culture gaming takes the form of. I believe he should personally meet every professional gamer(in-person), all the way dating back to the Red Annihilation tournament Thresh won after watching Frag: The Doccumentary and E-@theletes. Get to know what it means to be a professional gamer. Get to know the professional gamers. And at the same time pay close attention to the rest of the gamers in the community as well by doing frequent votes and surveys(and actually adhering to them come do-day). I believe doing the above would give Mr. Winchester an untold understanding of the E-sports industry and make him a hell of a lot more successful than the CGS ever was.
Anyways thats just my two cents, doubt he or anybody else will ever read the above walls of text, but I guess that would only prove my point.
Aonce once again... Don't hate on WWFOG before you at least try to convince Mr. Winchester to pick up CS and explain to him why it is a far better game to support and have used...
QUOTE:rather be a nerd playing cs than a nerd watching wrestling
its just as fake as cs is.
Wrestling isn't "fake". Just like most TV shows and films aren't real but you still watch them, right? It's like calling Soap Operas fake. No duh, no one says it's real.
#9 I really don't see why you posted like a page long I think I read like 10 words out of that whole post and I know exactly what you are saying..no need for the essays here.
Also I don't really know why you said Jason Lake was part of the community before he started coL. When he started it everyone was calling him an idiot for paying people to play cs and now hes going to forever be remembered along with Craig Levine.
#12 I meant he was a player himself too. Thats what Mr. Winchester should do. That way he really can live to the WWFOG motto and know what gamers need. Much like we did for the Valve guy by the name of Tony who we introduced what was wrong with CS to. Just approach Mr. Winchester, show him some frag movies, and doccumentaries(espcially the one with shaGuar as a kid and coL: Redemption). Show him why CS is the perfect game and see what he says about picking it up and dropping all those other crappy games for real games.
#18 can you learn to troll? How can you decide that I was a high school drop out because I've never been to college? And no I havn't I'm 17 turning 18 this October.
#22 I have no interest in doing so. I love E-sports and I will do everything in my power to succeed in it. Both at a competitive level but at the same time not losing sight of my goals to promote it and bring North America E-sports as far if not further than what it is in Korea.
#23 After you fail to do succeed, will you rely on your fallback plan of "i was trolling u guys all along hurrr durrr" to keep yourself from suiciding?
#25 good idea I'll start writing up an e-mail or something now if I can find some contact information on the WWFOG site and try to introduce Mr. Winchester to CS the best I can to see if he would pick it up and support it and start supporting real games and drop the terrible ones hes chosen now.
Fodder, How do you expect to change anything? You should just quit you inflict and keep the CS scene render useless with your cheats and other mishaps. Face some facts, you attempted to cheat and failed. You can't play legit for your life and you know it.
You're hindering the cs scene more then you think, And if you love it so much just quit. Any fool could see his own mistakes bit you clearly can not.
I personally hate you like half the community does. This isn't a troll at all nor do i plan on it being one. I find it sad that soo few players are legit and unknown me being one of them. Its actually sad what you think you're doing but it is only hurting us more.

High school dropout?
Have you applied to any colleges?

you aren't very intelligent.
good day to you sir.
