I've been playing source for a few years and recently I've bought 1.6 Everybody says it's harder to get kills in 1.6, there's more recoil etc. But I feel like in 1.6 recoil actually makes sense and there's less randomness.
When I get killed in source it feels like bad luck, in 1.6 it feels like someone was actually better than me. Also, I'm at least as good in 1.6 as in source and I've only played for a day :S, like 1.6 is more logical to play :P.
AK is the best riffle but it comes at the cost of more recoil, although most know how to control it--- best i can say about it dont spray try click shooting like u would a usp. Or shoot in incriminates of burst
Colt - in my opinion nice weapon good for walling people and good for spraying them down
awp - might feel slower to scope with but basically a good gun
Other than that just play it smart and watch demos ull learn :)
Nades do have a very small binding box, so you can throw them through any corner without having them bounce right back at you.
I guess the difference that stands out the most between the two games is movement. Movement is a huge part of 1.6, and having superior movement/positioning is a major part of being "better" than other people. You will learn with time, but you should get familiar with strafejumping, ladder movement (specially for train), boosting, and specially better sound recognition+using your radar.
It's almost impossible to win any clutch round if you don't know how to take advantage of game sound and paying attention to your radar. Learn to notice the faintest of sounds, because most of the times that tiny noise you heard 30 seconds ago in the round will give you an edge over your opponent when it comes to deciding what to do.
1.6 just takes more gamesense and overall skill/smarts to be a good player. In the 1.6 world there is much higher range and depth in skill, meaning you need more TALENT to be a top player in the world, because it is a much more skillful game, its harder to kill a much better player in 1.6 then it is in source. In 1.6 there is a much bigger difference between a bad player and a good player, and a good player and a great player, and a great player and a top player... with obviously many more steps in-between. good luck with 1.6 though, and you definitely should get ESEA and play that in order to get a more realistic perspective in how good you are.
This whole thread is being trolled by a 1.6 player who never played Source. Though I dislike Source, the whole argument over which game is better is getting old.
its all about control. the more control you have the more accurate your shots will hit. and when you shoot through walls the bullets dont go straight, they scatter a little, do the further the enemy is away from the wall, the less your shots will hit him.
deagle just takes alot of practice, its more about the feel.
ak you gotta learn to tap, really really tap. this takes a while to master m4s you can burst more, but there are still times in some instances tapping is better.
i personaly think the best was to improve aim is to go in a deathmatch and ONLY use ak 1 shots. ONLY this requires maximun control of crosshair and still gives you immediate reinforcement (ak hs kills)
uhm I'm not trolling, I'm not even asking which game is better -.-, I'm asking for the differences between the games to make it easier to switch, learn to read :p.
Switching from source to 1.6

Is it hard to switch from source to 1.6?
edit: But is there like **** that's totally different that I need to know? Like certain weapon does more damage or something?

I think you are confusing 1.6 with source.
