The only baseball fans that actually like the yankees are from ny/nj or foreigners, who recognize the pinstripes only as an icon. Sorry man but the yankess are evil.
#17 its called true fans and will beat the hell out of you or cuss out anyone even our players if something is wrong. Facts are one of the yanks players gets paid more than like the whole phillies line up. CLIFF LEE TO THE YANKS NEXT YEAR LETS SEE FAGGOTS BRING OUT THE CHECK BOOK! fags. pretty redic they didnt win last year or before to be honest
I'm a Phillies fan but the way their lefties hit that series they didn't deserve to win. However, once and hopefully soon the salary cap comes in the major leagues the yankees will be in serious trouble. For as long as I can remember they have been buying star players as opposed to scouting, drafting, and turning players into all stars. The Phillies drafted both Chase Utley and Ryan Howard and turned them into superstars, as well as picking up players like Victorino and Werth and Ruiz who were essentially nobodies before playing with the Phils. All of who make a FRACTION of what just a FEW of the yankee players make.
lol #23 not really. I said the phillies didn't deserve to win. But instead of trying to talk shit, why not bring up some argument to what I said...oh wait...there really isn't an argument.
yeah i dont understand how people can be yankee fans other than true new yorkers... why would anyone like a team that just spends more money than everyone else to buy championships. gotta be low sports iq bandwagon idiots to cheer for the yankees otherwise
Uh, yeah all those lefties were horrible. Especially that Chase Utley guy, was ice cold the whole series. The only lefty that hit bad in the series was Howard. Rollins and Victorino are both switch hitters, and Stairs hardly played. So, yeah I don't really know what you're talking about.
The Phillies lost for a simple reason, they didn't have as loaded of a roster and they didn't take advantage of Burnett throwing meatballs down the middle in game two. I mean, 22 of 26 first strikes in the game, almost ALL of them were fast balls. What the hell were they doing?
Team 2009 payroll New York Yankees $201,449,189 New York Mets $149,373,987 Chicago Cubs $134,809,000 Boston Red Sox $121,745,999 Detroit Tigers $115,085,145 Los Angeles Angels $113,709,00 Philadelphia Phillies $113,004,046 Houston Astros $102,996,414 Los Angeles Dodgers $100,414,592 Seattle Mariners $98,904,166 Atlanta Braves $96,726,166 Chicago White Sox $96,068,500 San Francisco Giants $82,616,450 Cleveland Indians $81,579,166 Toronto Blue Jays $80,538,300 Milwaukee Brewers $80,182,502 St. Louis Cardinals $77,605,109 Colorado Rockies $75,201,000 Cincinnati Reds $73,558,500 Arizona Diamondbacks $73,516,666 Kansas City Royals $70,519,333 Texas Rangers $68,178,798 Baltimore Orioles $67,101,666 Minnesota Twins $65,299,266 Tampa Bay Rays $63,313,034 Oakland Athletics $62,310,000 Washington Nationals $60,328,000 Pittsburgh Pirates $48,693,000 San Diego Padres $43,734,200 Florida Marlins $36,834,000
The Yankees can afford it when they probably have 75% of all MLB income from merchandise compared to other teams. After Braves, Cubs, Dodgers, and Red Sox, the other teams merchandise isn't bought by people other than their fans. People buy those 5 teams colors and logos to look cool(Not saying actual fans of the teams do that, just people who think a big A or LA on their hat makes them cool.)
QUOTE:took 32 posts before someone mentioned matsuis name? that was one of the best performances ive ever seen in any major championship of any sport
Uh what about Utley? Matsui only had 13 at bats which is only equivalent to playing like three games. Utley had an amazing series and was more important than Matsui overall.
QUOTE:Philly's are only 80ish mill behind the yanks in payroll.
Oh they only have an EIGHTLY MILLION dollar advantage? Considering the majority of the teams in the league don't have have an 80 million dollar payroll, it kinds makes a difference? Oh and btw every one of those teams at the top in money were expected to win this year. No team in the bottom 12 in money got into the playoffs. The Yankees in this off season paid more money than ALL of the national league teams, combined. So yeah, saying they didn't have a huge advantage because of money is absurd.
#47 You have got to be the most uneducated sports fan I have ever seen in my life. Yankees HAVE ALWAYS had the most money in baseball. It has nothing to do with who sells the most tickets..like somone said until a salary cap is put into effect this will never stop. The yankees will always have the most money because of who owns the team. I dont like the phils or the yanks but take a look at this New York Yankees $201,449,189 Philadelphia Phillies $113,004,046 and the phillies are a pretty stacked team if I say so myself...Padro,cliff lee, hammels, howard, werth, utley, luis all these guys are superstars in the baseball world and see for yourself the pay role diffrence.. Just between CC sabathia, mark teixeira and A-rod they spent somewhere around 85 mil .. insane
quit complaining about the money, how about your favorite teams gm steps their money game up. is it the yankees fault they have the money and have the money to spend? all i hear is wah wah cry cry from a bunch of babies and i aint even a yanks fan
the yankees also pull an amazing amount of money from their fans tho too
YANKEES WIN!!

#21 no, you vote for neither, moron.

Florida Marlins.. this team is the lowest on the list. They have won some world series and yet there fans still don't support them.
Philly's are only 80ish mill behind the yanks in payroll.
Look at the other teams high on the list. They must be "buying players too" as evolution says... and yet they are still bad as fk!!
fvck the yanks.. fvck the phils
Congratulation to the Yankees, you deserved it.
Uh what about Utley? Matsui only had 13 at bats which is only equivalent to playing like three games. Utley had an amazing series and was more important than Matsui overall.

Or maybe they could have juiced up their star players to do better during their threepeat LOL!?~
