Demo

i download demos from Gotfrag..and put them.. and open them.. but then a problem shows...the demo player doesnt show..(you know the tab where you can stop and fasten the demo...) can u tell me how to find it.. or maybe some shortcuts on the keyboard for the commands?

noo im using playdemo ... you cant watch HLTV demo by using VIEWDEMO

yes you can... lol go into console , type viewdemo demonamehere e.g if the name was fnaticf0resthltv.dem you type viewdemo fnaticf0resthltv in console, then press the ` and the menu should come up. you cant bring up the playback menu through playdemo.

you can watch hltv demo by using VIEWDEMO

example.
filename : mymvsfnatic.dem

then in console, you should write:
viewdemo mymvsfnatic.dem

and enjoy

i downloaded the protocol 48 ... but it cant open.. the dem:

viewdemo mym
Playing demo from mym.dem.

its an older version, get the complexity demo player and watch it that way

bind "F6" "host_framerate .2"
bind "F7" "host_framerate .0"
bind "F8" "host_framerate .01"
bind "F9" "host_framerate .00000000000001"

F6= Super fast forward (a typical round will end in about 4-5 seconds)
F7= Play normal
F8= Fastforward normal (like 2x or 3x speed)
F9= Pause

Viewdemo: Plays the demo with the toolbar so you can rewind, fast forward, pause, ect. It does not work with the old demos though.

Playdemo: Works with all demos. There is no toolbar and no way to rewind. Put the commands above into your config to change the framerate speed so that you can fast forwad and pause. Its better than nothing. These are legal consol commands.. they dont have any effect on the normal game, only in playdemo mode.
