Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is probably the only movie ever made that is its own drug, honestly feel high every time i watch it.
Surprisingly every film mentioned in this thread so far is at least 'pretty good'. On top I'd like to add Half Nelson, tip-top film about a druggie school teacher.

joseph gordon-levitt was great in Mysterious Skin though, considering the really disturbing subject matter (+the movie's rly gay)
