I got both DA and 518 but im debating which one should i use, 518 is heavier and slow movements where as DA is fast move but it feels kinda sensy or not accurate as 518.
scrap both of them and buy a fucking xai. i got to use one the other day, and OMFG.
i went from mx510 to 518 then ms3.0 and deathadder. Lets just say that it feels like a 3.0 on steriods. 0 accel, 0 negative accel, tracks amazingly and glides great on a qck. i also tested out the cpi changer and it runs great on all cpis. i didn't feal any negative effects like accel. the outside looks like the 1.1-3.0 plastic, but it feels both smooth and grippy, kind of like if the deathadder had grip bumps. the scroll is kind of crisp + soft aswell. not like the rubber da one. the quality of the scroll also feals alot more accurate and sturdy then the da and ms 3.0.
ill also note that the da scroll comes loose after alot of uses and always feels like its gonna fuck up at any time. the xai feels alot stronger and could probably withstand more use. so thats a bonus for bhoppers.
i think the people that will most appretiate this are the 1.1 + 3.0 users, as it is very similar in shape, but if your also looking for a change from da or 518 this is deffinately the way to go.
out of 10 (10 being xai rating) other mice would rate: xai: 10 deathadder (not 3.5g): 8.5-9 (depending on whether you get a working one) mx518: 7 mx510: 6.5 ms 3.0: 5.5 wmo1.1: 3
i haven't actually tried the da 3.5g, but im guessing it would be like the da, except for mid-high sens users. either way im assuming the xai owns both.
yeah till you can afford xai i would say deathadder... and are you kidding me?? it is a better tracker than mx518 so better accuracy... and you can remove the correction which is a huge bonus... but both mice are so good that you should use both... i am actually doing the same... when i feel my aim is down i swtich to the other mouse for a couple of days... love em both actually...
xai is the only thing i own right now thats steelseries. like i had a some v2s a while back but there crap as.
mabey im over hyped about it. but honostly it does blow most of the comp out of the water. id say that the da is the closest thing to it in quality, but after several scroll wheel fuckups and having to send for replacements, im over it.
Honestly, its which ever one you feel more comfortable with, but the DA is better than the 518 in overall preformance. Though, that doesnt mean the 518 isnt a good gaming mouse.
If you can't decide which is more comfortable(like I couldn't) then maybe this will help.
518 or DA
any suggestion?

xai>deathadder>mx518>3.0>1.1
The DA, Mx518, 3.0, and 1.1 are all good mice. Play with what works and feels right.
