Both hurts, but which one hurts more?
For me, any physical pain can be healed with medicine and time, however the emotional/spiritual pain cannot. It's easy for you to say that rape isn't the worst because you didn't experience it yourself.
Pretty soon that experience will haunt her forever. She can have disorders such as Agoraphobia, Social Phobia etc.

Thus you can't say it makes more sense to be religious. Besides religion has always played a huge role in many of the atrocities committed. The holocaust, 9/11, the crusades etc. Tolerance does not exist within religion. Religion exists as hypocrisy. The persecution of science through out the decades.
