As you may or may not remember, a few weeks ago the WCG USA orginizers announced that their planned finals venue at the Ultimate Gamers Expo had been canceled due to the Ultimate Gamers Expo moving their dates (and possibly not happening at all). Well, WCG USA today announced the new location of their finals event. The following is taken directly from their website.

We will bring you more details about the event in our official release Monday, but wanted you to be able to start making or changing travel plans immediately.

The Samsung WCG 2003 USA Final will take place at the Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, California, from Tuesday, August 19 through Thursday, August 21. The Irvine Spectrum is a huge, outdoor shopping and entertainment center, including a newly renovated cinema and IMAX Theater, Dave & Buster’s, the Improv Comedy Club, and many great restaurants and retail stores.

We suggest that you deal with flights first, because we are currently receiving proposals from nearby hotels and should be able to offer a WCG deal in the next couple of days. Also, flight prices will be cheaper if you can book them before two weeks before your flight (i.e. by Monday, 8/4). If you haven’t booked your flight yet, look into John Wayne Airport – it’s closer to the Irvine Spectrum than LAX, though flights to LAX may be a bit cheaper. If you have already booked your flight and can change the dates, please do so immediately and then email winners2003@wcgusa.org about the change fees you incur. If you have non-changeable tickets, again please email winners2003@wcgusa.org about that. And if you need help changing your plans, email… you guessed it… winners2003@wcgusa.org

Finally, some of the email addresses we got from you guys are either illegible or non-working. So, if you won a semifinal, please email winners2003@wcgusa.org with the following information: your name, your correct email address, the location where you competed, the game you compete in, and the alias you competed under. We’d like to be able to contact each and every one of our finalists with critical info as the event approaches.
