True Gamers League (TGL) is proud to announce, going into the 4th season, the launch of our new website and league engine, located at http://www.tgleague.com With these enhancements comes an easier to navigate layout and improved user and team management functions, as well as improved administration support. We are also pleased to be able to confirm the involvement of TGL sponsors such as Xgameservers (www.xgameservers.com) who is providing the TGL network, and prize sponsors Razer (www.razerzone.com) and TypeFrag (www.typefrag.com) Along with this we have secured media coverage with (www.ampednews.com) , (www.csnation.net) , (www.esreality.com) , (www.gblesports.com) , and many many others.

With the release of our new website TGL will be resuming active play on April 12th, schedules being released Saturday morning, and commencing with 3 weeks of pre-season. These 3 weeks will be used to facilitate the entry and placement of a vast number of new teams that have recently joined the TGL ranks, as well as correct any bugs that may be found within the new site engine. This extended pre-season, names pre-season weeks 3-5, will run on the weeks of April 12 on de_dust2, April 19 on de_aztec, and April 26 on de_train. The regular season will immediately begin after the pre-season on May 3, 2004, with the map rotation to be announced shortly.

We see the future of TGL as one of success built upon our connection and loyalty to the true gamer. With that said we will, over the course of the next several months, be announcing expansions into new games, gameplay types, and skill divisions, as well as launching additional sponsorships and partnerships that will improve the competative atmosphere within TGL.

tgl = as bad as ogl

TGL invite will not be running this season due to the level of competition desired not being able to be obtained. The teams in their currently dont belong there and were transfered when the site converted. That will be changed soon.

Hopefully the increase of sponsor, media, and backend support should help propel TGL to the competative level it needs to be at next season for a stable Invite division.

would you perfer TGL run an invite division with low caliber teams that play each other multiple times in the regular season due to low numbers? TGL is still facilitating the same number of teams, and now allowing more teams the ability to compete for prizes. I dont see the issue ;)

for the ppl who say TGL blows, you guys are wrong, especially #6, I don't think you actually play in the league do you? just freaking talk trash on the league not that well known? but I can say you can't even attend to TGL-main. So please don't give negative comment when you didn't even play in it. Grow up please.

TGL is mad fun...my team went 46-2 in preseason and were in advanced now... and even have the chance to go Invite now, with the new preseason extention, if they decide to let more teams in it :O

#22 of course they listen to the players, probably only about 750 people play in TGL at most. CAL-cs has 270,000.

kinda weird though we were started in tgl-m and then after winning our 2 preseasons, one by a big ratio, we were moved up

... lets see.. EXPROPRIATE WAS INVITED TO TGL-I PLAYOFFS LAST SEASON... when they played one match, screwed around agianst hicks with sticks, and lost... how does that make for a good league? if you want to be good, start from the beginning, get good teams, and go from there. dont start with like 4 divisions... start with like 2-3..

you would think that TGL did something wrong with all of these comments. As if they forced teams to play a certian way, promised something and didnt deliver, or went and spammed IRC channels or something.

TGL provides a competative ground for people to play, and has worked to make neccessary advancements to improve that experience. It has its bumps that it will hit, but its also a small and growing league and that stuff is inevitable. I dont know why people are seemingly expecting a perfect world to be created in 7 days by TGL =P

teehee Tgl is actually a very fun league. Its pretty competitive because you know a lot of the clans your facing. :p

try having fun god, who cares what leagues you're in as long as you're having fun.

covert was head admin of RiTD, if any of you retail kids don't know what ritd was, i'll let you know. rumble in the desert, one of the top leagues back in the betas - harbored NHG, CK3, NATO, SIK, and many other old school 'beasts'. i'd give this league a chance, since covert is head of the cs operations - and covert is a good guy. he led ritd to the top, i think he can do something similar with tgl.

also, all you moronic flamers flaming the league, saying it sucks - etc etc. get a clue, covert's the MAN. ritd was the best league ever, 7v7 ahh the old ritd days. give tgl a chance, any league with covert must be a decent league.

Not to dog Covert, but he didn't have anything to do with leading RITD to the top when it was THE popular league. He tried to restart RITD after it had died, but he was not running it when it was the top league to be in back in the day.

yeah, scoots is right. Big_V (Sean) ran RiTD to the top of its ladder. I was an admin in the league, and helped run it after V stepped down, but never really ran it myself untill a while after. But, at that point CAL and many other leagues had risen, and all RiTD data and work had been lost, so the league never got back on its feet. It was fun while it lasted though ;) A shame really.

It might help if your handle on grammar was better, Covert.
