The host of the final world tour stop in Santiago, Chile, LAN-Z, has announced several details about CPL Chile and the first team to accept an invitation to attend their CS 1.6 tournament. This stop will host tournaments for Counter-Strike 1.6, Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne, Starcraft Brood War and Painkiller and will showcase talent from Latin America and the world over. In addition to the main tournament CPL Chile will include a section BYOC with capacity for 500 players, sponsor booths, and webcasting by TSN (in English) and Lan-Z Radio (in Spanish)Official Qualifiers for Lan-Z Championship 2005 will be held in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and Europe. In addition LAN-Z has announced that the Argentinean CS team aRmy has accepted an invite to the event and has received a spot in the final bracket of the tournament The stop will be held at "Events Center of San Carlos Apoquindo" (Centro de Eventos de San Carlos de Apoquindo) from October 28th to the 30th The prize break down is as follows Painkiller - CPL World Tour 2005 - US$ 50.000. 1º - $15.000 2º - $10.000 3º - $ 7.000 4º - $ 5.000. 5º - $ 3.500. 6º - $ 2.500. 7º - $ 1.750. 8º - $ 1.250. 9º to 12º - $ 625. 13º to 16º - $ 375. Um...this is 2005. PainKiller is still the WT game...
I may just be confused, but does this mean that they automatically make it to the finals of the tournament, or they just automatically get a spot, no payment for registration needed?
should be damn fun to watch some of those matches
And doesn't matter if any of "the greatest players" attend to the event or no, because many good teams will be there like Misiolan from Argentina or Unforgiven and Cyber World X from Paraguay...
