GotFrag’s Official World Rankings wait for no event as the CPL UK takes place this weekend in Sheffield, UK. The major changes since the last update are due entirely to the ESWC/CPL blockbuster weekend that could be the biggest in eSports history. Now its time to see how the rankings were affected and who will remain up top. Worldwide Rankings
Just Outside: NoA - 23, EG - 22 After ESWC/CPL weekend, the world has turned into a two horse race with one outside Darkhorse. Each of them comes from the three big events over the past couple months with Complexity taking home the crown jewel, ESWC and the top spot while SK.swe took CPL worth second on the ranking. Begrip by not attending either event dropped still hanging onto the WEG Championship from their second season. Lower down the ranking reflects the changing landscape of the scene as 4K survives its terrible ESWC showing by only sliding a few spots. Confidence in Mouz continues to grow. Virtus.pro’s struggles since ACON5 have them falling off while at the end of the ranking Lunatic becomes the first Korean team to find itself on the World Rankings with two impressive 4th place finishes, ESWC 2005 and WCG 2004. North American Rankings
Just Outside: Check Six - 11, Cyberglobe - 7 Complexity has dominated everything else, why not the North American Rankings. 3D continues to change rosters and the voters have responded moving them above GamerCo who continues in a haze of uncertainty. EG also joined the crowd above GamerCo with promising roster moves as 3D’s Benger ringing at WCG and Lin as a new 5th. WEW clings to the 5th slot holding off an improving DeadZone team who is winning everything in Eastern Canada. JMC grabs the next spot as they continue to impress in CAL after a very successful CPL performance. European Rankings
Just Outside: Pentagram - 12, OCRANA.ATI - 9 The top two spots go to the current reigning Champions, SK.swe for CPL and Begrip for WEG. Begrip’s lack of attendance at either ESWC or CPL hurt their chances to stay ahead of their fellow Swedish team but did keep resurgent German powerhouse Mouz away. Mouz’s upset loss to SK.dk at ESWC might have cost them a chance at a higher placing. 4K held off a strong group of teams including Catch-Gamer and NiP after recent difficultly. Virtus.Pro’s stock fell as they continue to show trouble repeating previous successes consistently. NoA and x6 both jump back onto the rankings. NoA’s new lineup will get tested early at CPL UK and WEG Qualifications while x6 continues to show they are one of the best upset picks in all of Europe. General Ranking Notes: 1. Sorry, but there aren't any rankings for Australian, Asian or South American regions. 2. International teams do not qualify for North American or European rankings. They are ranked in the World Rankings exclusively. International teams are determined by the organization that runs them and their determination of their home of country of operation. 3. Rankings are voted on by top teams from around the World via an email/point process where each representative ranks the team with the team receiving points based on their individual ranking per representative. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
