Team9 have just defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas in an exciting 16 - 13 encounter on de_inferno. Team9 were the underdogs in every game they played and were little known outside of the Norwegian CS scene.

The game was a see-saw encounter with rounds being traded consistently as the match progressed. Team9 constantly edged ahead only for NiP to pull the game back level shortly after. In the final rounds NiP failed to hold bombsite B with the bomb planted and Team9 secured the victory.

Team9 win $5000 for their troubles, but perhaps more importantly for them, worldwide recognition and respect. Will this be remembered as a random tournament victory like that of former WCGs and ACON 5 events, or an event which proved the skill gap between the highly paid international elite and the lesser known teams is not quite as wide as we first suspected.
