Justin “Sunman” Summy has spent the last three months away from the game after he retired following his dismissal from the Complexity lineup.

"Our [Complexity's] organization is very demanding when it comes to the level of dedication and commitment we ask from our players. At this point in his life, Justin has other relationships and obligations that make it difficult for him to continue this strict regiment." said Jason “1” Lake, Manager/Owner of Complexity, at the time of Sunman’s dismissal.

Summy’s commitments and coL’s recent play have combined to reunite the team. Summy has recently returned home to attend college in Pennsylvania. Freeing up time to return to practice with his former team Complexity, Summy hasn’t played competitively since the team won ESWC 2005. After the tournament coL announced the release of Summy while bringing on a new member, Derek “exodus” Heidinger.

“We will have more time to practice with Exodus than with Bullseye and Sunman, they always had things to do and cut it short,” said Danny “fRoD” Montaner, star player for Complexity, during an interview on TSN following the pick up, “What he (Exodus) has on Sunman is that he is dedicated and really hungry.”

Neither hunger nor dedication provided wins though as Complexity ran into serious trouble against its chief competition, Team 3D. Over the course of a month, Complexity lost four straight best of three series to the currently ranked 1st in North America and 2nd in the World. Complexity during that time dropped from its 1st in the World to 3rd.

In tournaments WCG USA 2005, DigitialLife Qualifier, GGL Americup Finals and DigitalLife Finals – 3D beat Complexity 10-2 in individual maps leaving little doubt as to who the better team was during that period.

Complexity’s response is to recruit Summy. Summy’s history has been largely meteoric playing with zEx, TSG and coL during their most successful periods including attendance at all three ESWC events, 2003-2005.

Heidinger has departed Complexity with the return of Summy to the starting line up. Some initial thinking was that he might stay on as a sixth but that was not confirmed by recent reports from the team.

"It is with sadness that we also announce the departure of our very good friend Heidinger," said Lake in an statement on coL's website.
