The third installment of the World eSports Games is winding down. After two stages of Group Play matches, only four remain. The Finals will be held in two weeks in China. Yesterday, Team wNv and team9 faced off in their Semi Final match up. Team wNv proved that they were just too strong for team9 and were able to defeat them quite quickly in two maps (16-7 on Train and 16-11 Nuke).

Today, the second Semi Final match was played between the Ninjas in Pyjamas and Project_kr. Starting on Train, Project managed to get the better of NiP in a close match that went into overtime. Project managed to win four of the first five rounds giving them the map win and very important 1-0 lead in the best of three. With their backs to the wall after suffering their first loss of the tournament, NiP needed to turn it up on Nuke and hopefully force a third map.

The Ninjas began the map on the favored defensive side. After a slow start losing the pistol round and subsequent two ECO's, NiP really started to take control in round four. From that point, the Swedes showed no mercy winning eleven of the remaining twelve rounds to finish the half at 11-4. The second half started off the same with Project taking the pistol and winning the first four rounds. However, NiP stormed back taking the next five to send the match into the third and decisive map of Dust2.

This time around, Project would be on defense to kick off this map, and again strong pistol work allowed them to win the vital opening round and roll the next three rounds. NiP just could not regain control and would manage to win only two rounds on offense and end the half with a 13-2 score in favor of project. The second half started out with both teams trading two frags each leaving a 3v3 situation. NiP managed to get it into a 2vs1 in their favor, however, they could not capitalize and Project's remaining member, termi managed to finish off the last two NiP players. NiP would not be able to recover as Project would easily grab the remaining three rounds to take the map and match. Project will now play Team wNv in the Finals and NiP will face off against team9.
