Bootman Says Pros This team is one that people had hyped a lot before the event, even myself. Although they had a lot of hype behind them, so did many teams and I think they caught a lot of people offguard by making it this far. This team has godly aim, as most Asian teams do, and their reflexes are unmatched to many out there. There's top players such as SpawN or Storm that have awesome recoil control, but you don't see much recoil control. Why? When they hear you or see you, it looks as though they have auto-aim. They see, and they connect. SK will have to do a lot of out-thinking to sneak up on Lunatic in the finals. The biggest asset I see going for Lunatic is their revolutionary offense. They have offensive tactics that nobody in the world has seen before. This isn't just any ol' ordinary four man stack to pick off an AWPer around the corner. These are very fast paced, well thought out, and unseen tactics that have the possibility of letting Lunatic win every offensive half they have against SK (assuming they take it to the second map). Lunatic runs a flash-bang tactic that involves the second player in line to throw a flash while the player in front runs passed it to get a shot on the unsuspecting defensive player while he is turning to shield his eyes. At this level, when a player turns his head from a flash, it is a split second move and Lunatic has it timed just right, so even though the flash does not get him, a bullet will. The player to watch out for against SK today is definately going to be mal. Everybody at this tournament is talking about this player, not because of his aim, but his intuition. I haven't had a chance to actually talk to him and find out exactly why his intuition is so amazing, but it is. If mal every moved to the USA and entered our leagues, he would be banned within weeks. When you watch him play, it looks as though he does not have any walls, he just knows where everyone is on offensed and defense. I think mal just does his homework a lot more than most of the top players out there and has just learned what to expect from most players. Cons The only bad part about Lunatic-Hai is their lack of experience. SK has SpawN, vilden, ahl, and fisker, all of these players have multiple international event championships under their belts. Snajdan has one, but the other four have more experience in finals matches than most of the people attending this event. I don't really think that Lunatic-Hai will get nervous at all, they are very relaxed players and look excited every time they get in the server. My prediction is that Lunatic-Hai will take the first map. They were here until about 2 A.M. while myself and other GotFrag writers were still in the BYOC. This makes me think that they were getting all of their new tactics timed perfectly, so they could be as diverse as they were on de_nuke versus Jmc. The problem is that even if Lunatic does take the first map, there is not a good chance that SK will lose the second map. This is where their eperience comes into play. If Lunatic was able to figure out a way to use their fast flashbang tactics on de_inferno, I guarantee they can take this event though. As I said in my Jmc versus Lunatic-Hai match review, there is no counter for it yet. ![]() |
