Counter-Strike: St Louis CS Tournament and more!

By: Jason Baker - Published January 11, 2006 at 11:00 PM EST - Writer Archive
Warfactory, a St. Louis-based LAN group is hosting yet another fantastic event on the weekend of January 28th, 2006. This will be our first two-day event in the St. Louis Area featuring a $1000 Counterstrike tournament, plus events for Quake 4, Battlefield 2, and many others. We expect to have between 100-150 gamers in attendance.
This event is also unique in that we're hosting it in the Bandwidth Exchange Building (http://www.bandexch.com/) in Downtown St. Louis. This is literally becoming the center of all Internet traffic through the region, and ensures that we'll have a solid Internet connection throughout the 30-hours of gaming action. As you all know, this is increasingly important to fans of Counterstrike: Source and Battlefield 2, removing the need for you to update your system before heading out the door!

We're also working to help Dr. John Lockwood of Washington University in St. Louis to perform research on game servers and network traffic. Prof. Lockwood will be speaking about the technological advancements that you've never heard of which are set to radically improve your gaming experience, both online and at LAN Parties!

In addition to Washington University's involvement, we have partnership from Enterprise Consulting Group, GameWatch.com, the Bandwidth Exchange, Connectria, the St. Louis Science Center, and the Technology Entrepreneur Center, ComputerGeeks, fUnc, and many others!

If you're in or close to the St. Louis Area, you can't afford to miss this event! Check us out and register at www.warfactory.net !
