de_trainI really can not explain why this spot is so effective. I first saw it during 3D's match against wings at CPL Spain. Wings had four players holding the outer bombsite, while one player was able to catch us with this angle about 75% of the time. When the offense is coming down the stairs they have two spots they check out of habit; the top end of the hall, and the bottom of the ramp. This spot is very hard to fall back from if you get in trouble, but it is a great angle to catch the offensive players off guard when they are attempting a slow inner bombsite takeover.

If you are in a clutch situation, usually a one-on-one, and the bomb is down somewhere around the ladder room or power box, this is a good spot to play. If they cross over, you can get a nice frag from behind. You cannot play all the way against the box though. I have seen many clutch rounds lost due to playing touching the box, because the offensive player could then sneak past you and plant at the spawn side of the bomb train and this will make your job much more difficult.

This is an AWPers dream. I believe shaGuar was the first player I saw use this little trick effectively. Basically, if you can switch back and forth between a colt and an AWP, your position should really be the ladder room. This is specifically for the AWP though. If you have a good spawn towards the back side of the bomb train, take this shot. Run with your knife down the left wall and jump and crouch down at the end of the bomb train while scoping in to see the offensive side of middle. You will 99% of the time beat their AWPer in the middle and are able to get a quick pick. If not, you will be able to slow down a rush coming from the middle and be allowed to fall back to the back of the bomb train and AWP from there.
