CyberEvolution has released details on their third Counter-Strike 1.6 season. Weekly map list and pot prizes have been announced.

CPL Winter 2006 Total: $30,000
CEVO Total: $23,500

PNY Winter: $2,750

You guys are forgetting its not winner take all. First place AMATUER team only gets $450, divided 5 ways that's only $90 per person. Now in MAIN, its $2250 or $450 per person (assuming 5-man lineup). So only in MAIN I think the prizes are substantial enough (I could actually pay a month's rent.. IF I win).

Amateur Division / Intermediate / Main Divisions

* 1st Place: 45% of prize pot
* 2nd Place: 25% of prize pot
* 3rd Place: 10% of prize pot
* 4th Place: 10% of prize pot
* 5th Place: 5% of prize pot
* 6th Place: 5% of prize pot

The top four (4) teams from the Professional Division as determined by the tournament outcome will be rewarded. The prize money will be distributed as follows:

* 1st Place: 50% of prize pot
* 2nd Place: 30% of prize pot
* 3rd Place: 10% of prize pot
* 4th Place: 10% of prize pot

I'm not sure how much of the prize pot is from player fees. Would have to know how many people signed up. I also felt similar to #16 but that's life... the more talented and dedicated should get more :D

As for de_russka, that is a sweet map. I love it and I'm happy CEVO uses it. I can't say the same for de_tuscan though. I'd much prefer playing de_cpl_mill but CAL/CPL is just scared-jealous of their competition.

#11 No. 1st place at winter cpl was only $18k. Pot was $30k.

#8. No where else, anywhere, can a team that is amateur skill level have any chance of winning anything period.

#16 they have to take that money and put put it towards divisions with more winnings; because they are harder to win; deserving more money

there isnt enough professional teams sign'd up to cover 15000 maybe that will help u understand

#8 i think for most ppl in cevo, they dont care $ that much, they want a fair online league which is good @ anti-cheat(after cal renamed to cheaters unity)
