In this emerging eSport scene, it is often hard to understand and compare how good one nation is versus another nation. In order for eSports and Counter-Strike to grow globally there must be a sense of rivalry and importance tied to matches between all nations. For this and other reasons a complex system of point totals has been created to display a ranking of nations. Based on the model of FIFA's World Ranking, this ranking system will create more interest and rivalry in nations play.

With 77 countries from around the World ranked, GotFrag has created a home for media organizations, professional gamers, and fans to see where their country as well as other countries fit in the competitive Counter-Strike eSports scene. A total of 42 tournaments accounted for the initial rankings and over 5,000 points were awarded to different nations based on those tournaments.

The process of creating the rankings began following the 2005 World Cyber Games when a system to help events rank nations was needed to avoid early round play between historically top countries. Over two months worth of work has gone into the creation of this system with an intense interest and excitement from all who have been apart of this process.
