Counter-Strike: Dutch team Tempclan emerges

By: Bill Selles - Published April 18, 2006 at 11:12 AM UTC - Writer Archive
Constant roster shakeups in the Netherlands’ Counter-Strike scene have again landed star Dutch player Ferdi “xire” Senel with his old clan mates following his departure from DigitalMind. Senel had previously played for Champions eSports Association Ltd. (CEA), but a disappointing 5th-8th place at Gamers Assembly 2006 sent him looking for greener pastures.
As the roster has gone under steady change for the last three years, the lineup has decided to get a fresh start in the CS scene. The name “Tempclan” is only a placeholder for now as the team is without an official organization or sponsorship. With that said, it does not mean the team is without talent and dedication.

“Right now we’re only focusing on ESWC Qualifier and ESWC itself. When we qualify, since we have been out quite a while now, we should first prove to still be the best in Holland” said Roy “r0y” Gerritsen.

Gerritsen went on to say, “In the past it has always been quite easy for us to qualify for the ESWC (2003/2004), but I believe the teams in Holland became a lot stronger. While I have no worries about the teams we are going to play I do take them serious, but in my opinion there’s only one team in Holland who could come close to beating us on LAN, and that’s Plasa.”

While the team does have some potential names in mind, the decision is not being made until all details are worked out. Tempclan is also without a primary sponsor, but still plays on sponsored hardware from CEA.

Tempclan will be participating in the upcoming Holland ESWC Qualifier being played on May 14.

The current roster of Tempclan consists of:

Netherlands Frank "craven" van Schaik (manager)
Netherlands Mike "xyLo" van den Bergh
Netherlands Luc "MasterMe" Verkuil
Netherlands Roy "r0y" Gerritsen
Netherlands Maikel "CrimsoN" ter Borgh
Netherlands Ferdi "xire" Senel
