Taiwan joins the growing list of KODE 5 events!
KODE5 Launches KODE5 Taiwan
Taiwan’s Top Gamers Set to Collide at Asia’s Largest IT Show

(Taipei, TAIWAN, R.O.C) – April 28, 2006 – Hot on the heels of the KODE5 Germany announcement comes the latest exciting event to join the KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution. KODE5 Taiwan, in cooperation with Aztec Internet Café, invites gamers to participate in a series of online qualifiers for Counter-Strike 1.6, Quake 4, and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. As Taiwan’s largest Internet Café chain, Aztec offers a superb venue to seek out Taiwan’s best gamers. Then, the final four teams and players will slug it out at Asia’s largest IT-related trade show – Computex. The KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution, supported globally by Foxconn and Corsair, takes competitive gaming to an international stage with events being held in 20+ countries worldwide.

Details for the KODE5 Taiwan Regional Qualifiers are as follows:

Dates: May 27 – May 28
Location: Aztec Internet Café, ChungShiao YenJi Branch, Taipei
Tournaments: Counter-Strike 1.6, Warcraft III: TFT, Quake 4
Top 4 teams/players advance to KODE5 Taiwan Finals (four slots per game)

“We are excited to be hosting the first KODE5 event in Taiwan,” says Jing Kang Tsai, Owner and Operator of Aztec Taipei. “KODE5 brings a level of professionalism to the e-sports scene here in Taiwan, and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”

With 1280+ exhibitors occupying over 2800 booths, Computex Taipei is far and away the largest show of its kind in Asia. The Computex event attracts IT media and industry insiders from around the world. This year, showgoers will have the opportunity to feel the excitement of professional gaming, with the KODE5 Taiwan Finals being held at the Foxconn Computex booth:

Dates: June 6 – June 10
Location: Computex Taipei, Hall 2, Booths F189~F228 (Foxconn booth)
Tournaments: Counter-Strike 1.6, Warcraft III: TFT, Quake 4
First place winners advance to KODE5 Global Finals (1 slot per game)

In addition to the tournament, KODE5 in co-operation with Foxconn have also invited Taiwanese TV personalities, as well as one of Taiwan’s top female gaming teams, Definite Sanctity, to take on all challengers. With international IT media looking on, and local crowds getting into the action, KODE5 Taiwan will take e-sports that much closer to the mainstream.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the KODE5 Taiwan Finals at Computex,” notes Man Ling “Co*2” Tang of Team Definite Sanctity. “Gaming has always been our passion, and we can’t wait to show people how exhilarating gaming can be.”

“This year’s Computex is going to be the most exciting one yet,” says Christin Wang, Foxconn Global Marketing Manager. “With Foxconn motherboards as the base for all KODE5 PCs, all contestants will enjoy a smooth and stable gaming experience. We invite everyone to come to the Foxconn booth to enjoy the KODE5 festivities.”

“Taiwan has always had a thriving gaming community,” says KODE5 Revolutionary-in-Command Lester Lau. “By cooperating with Taiwan’s largest Internet café chain, and holding the Taiwanese finals at Asia’s largest IT show, we hope to further spread the message of competitive gaming to the masses.”

Details on how to register for these exciting events will be revealed soon on the official KODE5 website: www.kode5.com.

hm...dont remember which lan center i went to in taipei..but...
the comps were "AMAZING" too bad the keyboard/mouse/monitor(with speakers) were horrible. also had free drinks..which were ok.

but the monitors were seriously bad. in addition, the speakers inside the monitor were really cheap, sound tore. and also messed up the video on some of the louder sounds....

hoping it wasn't one in the aztec chain that i visited..
