The top dogs and the lower ranks still have all lot to sort out, but which is which seems fairly clear. NoA, NiP and coL seem to have a firm control over their respective areas while the World Ranking sees only two new faces but some moving up and down. The regional rankings were tight in many places as up and comers look to make a mark. World Rankings Last Updated: Wednesday April 20, 2005
Just Outside: Astralis - 16, SK.dk - 15 It has been a long time since the last update but one thing has become clear, NoA is the team to beat. Not since the days of SK.swe’s power run of back-to-back CPL’s has a team so dominated the rankings collecting every first place vote. Why not though as NoA has won CPL and now WEG, is ESWC next? NiP hopes to stop that as they come in second with a very tight grip ahead of Begrip. EYE continues to suffer not having a solid 5th and losing members to NiP while 4Kings and coL climb the rankings behind WEG and CAL-I performances. The new Element laden mibr moves up a spot to claim 7th while holding off a pair of Americans behind in GamerCo and 3D. The final spot goes to the ECG winner who beat out the new look Astralis and SK teams. North American Rankings Last Updated: Wednesday April 20, 2005
Just Outside: TEC - 15, CarbiOne - 6, Meepins - 4 The rise of Complexity is nearing completion with a Summer LAN season as the top American dog ahead. If they can run the gauntlet and stay atop their toughest competition, GamerCo and 3D, the sky could be the limit. Still GamerCo will be tough to slay if they continue to go overseas to Korea. They’ll need to improve their WEG finishes at least though, to continue to stay in good standing. Canadian invasion below seems to be eating up the lower spots as many of the top American talent has been sucked up into the big top teams or scattered in either fake or still unproven teams. EG actually moved up a spot due to this as no Canadian team has proven they are better, yet. European Rankings Last Updated: Wednesday April 20, 2005
Just Outside: Plan-B - 16, mTw.ATI - 12, x6tence - 9, Alternate aTTax - 8 Everything was close, expect who was on top. The emergences of 4Kings again plus continued dividing votes between Begrip and EYE, who many want to see who their new 5th will be, really left only a clear-cut top team, NiP. The difference between the 2nd and 4th place was only 14 points, a difference of only a few shifted votes. ECG winner Pentagram gained spots and looks in striking position if they can put together another strong International event. Astralis really was all over the place in voting as people put them from top 4 to 10th but until their impressive new lineup plays it will be hard to say where they belong. The bottom spots were equal as six teams were all within a single vote from jumping into the 9th spot. General Ranking Notes: 1. Sorry, but there aren't any rankings for Australian, Asian or South American regions. 2. NoA is an international team, and do not qualify for North American or European rankings. They are ranked in the World Rankings. 3. Rankings are voted on by top teams from around the World by an email/point process where each representative ranks the team with the team receiving points based on their individual ranking per representative. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
