After SK's anti-climatic start versus wNv, only one potential match up has really captured the imagination of CS fans around the world, wNv versus coL. The map selection favors wNv who has yet to lose a WEG match on Inferno or Train and are 1/2 on Nuke after losing on it 13-16 to SK on opening night. Complexity on the other hand has lost once on all three maps throughout the tournament; they are 1/2 on Nuke with a 7-16 loss to Virtus, 2/3 on Inferno with a 16-8 loss to Hacker, and 3/4 on Train with a 16-14 loss to Hacker. In the semi finals both wNv and coL had close opening matches. wNv waited until the 29th round to finish off Hacker.project on Dust2 and Complexity shut down a Catch-Gamer comeback in an overtime victory. The second matches for both teams were much more one sided. Complexity shut down Catch on Inferno 16-8 and wNv silenced Project in a 16-1 romp on Train. Both teams will need solid play from their respective stars, Ke Fei “Jungle” Yang and Danny “fRoD” Montaner, but also the players who played so strongly for them in the Semifinals. If Run Bo “Sakula” Wu plays like he did versus project, Complexity will be in trouble for the final match. Sporting a DAR of 141.0 and a 1.529 FPR Wu earned some of the most impressive statistics for a single match in GameSense. While his statistics for that single match are impressive, he is also wNv's second best player in terms of FPR, with an event total of 0.767. Jiang “Mikk” Pu and Zhen Wei “44'alex” Bian need to continue their solid play that has earned them spots in the top ten WEG players, according to GameSense. Pu has an event total FPR of 0.752, while Bian has a FPR of 0.725. Wnv has the most players in GameSense's top ten for the event, four, and is double that of the closest team Catch, who has two. Complexity, statistically, looks less impressive than wNv. Only coL's star player, Montaner, in WEG's top ten. However, just outside of the top ten at eleventh is Matt “Warden” Dickens who has been a key player for Complexity all event. While he may lack the statistical impact that Montaner has, Dickens has been a smart and effective player for coL. Justin “Sunman” Summy's play on Train against Catch was exactly what coL needed from him and will need more of the same in the Finals. In the last match of group play against Hacker Summy looked distracted and played poorly, however in the Semifinals he looked a lot more like the player we had seen over the years. The same holds true for Tyler “Storm” Wood, who has not had his best tournament here in China. Wood's play versus Catch, that included a 1.000 FPR and a 81.5 DAR, laid the groundwork for coL's defeat of Catch and their arrival at the WEG finals. These teams will face off with 50,000 dollars on the line, first place earns $70,000 while the second place team brings home $20,000. Notes: fRoD leads GameSense's +/- category with +95, and he has 50 more CT frags than T...wNv has the highest T win percentage of any team at WEG Masters, 57%...wNv also has the most errors, 7...coL and wNv have the same number of bomb plants, 58 Copyright 2006 GOTFRAG.COM LLC. wNv > coL 2:0
although if storm, sunman and tr1p step up their game and play very well...it can go either way; but the way wNv is playing; their unstoppable
they are going to come out on fire and take wnv by storm, taking the first 4 rounds at the very least.
col wins 2-0 with a very tight map 2
go col!!!!!!!!!
sunman shall awp the sh1t out of wnv and sakula will play horribly
frod vs jungle will be amazing match up to see.
either way coL has done more then alot of people have expected. alot of people thought they wouldnt make it past group play. they have stepped it up and right now for international play they are the reason america has any pride. 3d is a disgrace is national play, coL is only team that steps it up currently.
Whatever, the talent of SK has disappeared and the Europeans have fallen.
