The 2006 Electronic Sports World Cup Chinese Qualifier kicks off today in Beijing, China. Twenty four teams have qualified through various pre-qualifiers and will now face off against one another for a shot at qualifying for the Grand Finals in Paris, France. The event will see the twenty four teams split into four different groups. The first stage will be round robin as each team will play five matches within their own groups. The top two teams at the end of the round robin stage will advance into the single elimination best of three bracket. From there, the last team standing will win the trip to the ESWC Grand Finals.

All matches are scheduled to begin tonight, May 25th at approximately 10:00pm EST. Matches that remain after tonight will be finished tomorrow (May 26th) at approximately 10:00pm EST as well. The Grand Finals match is scheduled to be played on May 27th. Stay tuned to GotFrag for all the updates from the 2006 ESWC China Qualifiers. Do not forget to set your Personal Timezone to find out exactly when the matches will be played in your area so you do not miss any of the action. Update: (5:34am EST) wNv.Gaming has defeated their counterparts, wNv.cn, in two maps to successfully defend their ESWC China title. The 2006 WEG Masters Champions will now head to Paris to represent China in the ESWC 2006 Grand Finals.
