Counter-Strike: 4dN.PSYMIN goes inactive

The powerhouse Japanese Counter-Strike team calls it quits.

Tokyo, Japan - 4dn owner and manager Tsuneaki "Buddha" Takeda today told GotFrag that 4DN will be going inactive for an indefinite amount of time. The Japanese powerhouse, who placed 12th at CPL Summer 2005 and represented Japan at the World Cyber Games in 2004 and 2005, stated today that due to the lack of funding for the team and lack of tournaments other then WCG that they are able to attend, it is not possible for the team to carry on at this time. They hope to be back in the near future, but it looks as though professional e-Sports will be without the long time familiar faces of the Japanese for 2006.

Tsuneaki told GotFrag they will be back, maybe not as 4dN, but professional e-Sports won't be without the Japanese for to long.

sad to say but this is an old news... since when 4dN.kr disbanded, 4dN.jp announced their inactivity.. it's like a month or 2 ago...

Ahh, that sucks. We needed more Asian teams to compete in international tournaments. Then again Japanese people are more into console gaming then PC.

japan didnt have a scene and 4dN still managed to attend CPL events and do at least decent. sad to see japans only rep. go

it doesn't make sense for them to go inactive now? they complain there's nothing besides WCG for them to compete in yet WCG is not too far away. the members basically gave away a given flight to monza.

if cs was played with a ddr pad and a joystick japs would be all over this game

good news we don't need bad teams like 4dn participating events and taking spots which teams like wNv.cn deserves

well they WERE around for a VERY long time and its surprising

when i read this post it seems like 4dn was bad because they only played cs when there was an event around? lol...

if so, they are better than everyone

neo is the best cs player ever, if you disagree, you are a scrub.

#26, it's not 4DN who decides whether how many "Asian" slots are provided for events like CPL or ESWC. It's the sponsor/conglomorates in charge of booking overseas teams to be paid for that are reserving seeds for teams to attend.

It was pretty impressive for 4DN to even reach the level they are at. Besides 4DN, there are only 1~2 teams that can even put up 6 rounds against them in Japan. When they play teams in Korea/China/Taiwan, they must deal with pings of over 60 and it's not like they can scrim VS Lunatic-Hi everyday. That would be like SK.swe scrimming with NiP on a daily basis.

The Japanese suck at CS and soccer(no sarcasm).
