Counter-Strike: Complexity wins CGI CS

Two of the best teams in the USA will square as they look to earn $50,000 at DirecTV's showcase event. The main question is who will adapt to DirecTV's rules better?

Both teams had success in their first match with 3D beating NiP 10-4 while coL crushed JMC 10-1. Early round victories will be vital and both teams should come out hot in a match that has all the makings of a classic. With that said, there will be no HLTV or live video feed but GotFrag will be providing GameSense Live.

once again, taking out the HLTV is going to result in cs players not watching matches... in other words, you're gonna lose your fanbase

What a pos tournament. Its a shame they made the rules so bad when there is so much money to be won.

If quizzes are quizzical, then what are tests?

I hope the players speak out about the setup and format so that this doesn't happen in the future. I can understand if they stay quiet during the event because they want the money, but they should definitely not follow along blindly with something so ridiculous.

I hope the map is Nuke as well, coL shouldn't stop playing nuke until they embarrass 3D the way they do on all of the other maps.

would u homos stop crying about the format and understand why the way it is. Its a beta, a test model, etc. This is direct tv testing the format of the CGS tv show. Please realize this is to get people who dont follow gaming to watch. Im sure as the CGS events continue the rules will become closer to what we all know as competitive cs. until then enjoy the entertainment aspect and STFU.

I want 3D to win, but I think coL gots this.

#22 No offense, but I'm not exactly sure if everyone is going to jump on board to watch a bunch of kids playing Counter-Strike. For the most part, it's because they won't understand the game. That being said it'd be nice to be able to SEE these matches somewhere else than just on an american only satelite company so the people with immediate interest can watch 4 of the greatest counter-strike teams face-off in a pretty arena.

I REALLY REALLY hope no one actually cares about who wins this match and doesn't start raving about which team won saying their better after this match.

ALl i see in these comments is a whole lot of b*tching. This is a test tournament where a very big company is trying different things and giving alot of money to introduce video games to others. This is basically going to be a 2 day reality tv show. Stop whining that there's no HLTV. You guys are not even giving Directv a chance.

Directv could of picked any other game to give away 50k... they chose cs for a reason now let's see what they can do come august 25th.

Get a brain #16 and everyone else who keeps saying that not allowing HLTV will alienate fans.

Obviously this "tournament" is not that great, and it's that way because it is being held for real television. If you want to watch it then you tune in on DirecTV, that is the whole idea. Why would they offer HLTV? It would probably drastically reduce thier TV ratings.

I believe the idea is to try something new with TV since clearly "e-sports" has kind of gone as far as it's going to go with just HLTV. Real TV is long overdue in my opinion. Yes the format sucks with the 10 rounds and the start money. But look at this as perhaps the start of a new chapter of spectating competitive video games. If there is sufficient demand for this on TV then they can try to experiment with real matches and real events. Tiny steps to work out the problems and maybe a couple years from now and we will all be like "damn i cant believe i used to watch this on HLTV rofl"

Sick of people complaining about no HLTV. It's not there because it's being broadcast on real tv. If you're really a fan then try to tune in. If you're not the kind of CS fan that will support the growth of the game by watching it on television then you're going to get left behind. That's the way it should be, and how it needs to be, for this thing to keep growing.

HLTV was taken away because of DirectTV's setup at the stage. It will not be on TV until (either early or late August). Go coL~ bring home some monies Tyler you freakin cheap sob.

Why change the format at all? "Its TV friendly for people who havent seen CS before." Well who the hell would watch it on TV that doesnt know what CS is? Normal games are too long? G0t editing?

I understand its beta but I think next time to normal rules but edit the thing out >_<
