The WSVG announces today, July 27, 2006 that it has sanctioned an invitational for Counter-Strike 1.6 only in Sao Paulo, Brazil at the Arena Gamer Experience Event taking place at the Transamérica Expo Center August 4-6, 2006. Eight Counter-Strike 1.6 teams were selected by the regional event organizer to participate in this tournament.

This is an invite-only event and does not qualify a team for the World Series of Video Games Finals that will take place this winter.

The official WSVG Brazil stop is still being rescheduled for later this year as originally planned and announced.
