Intel in association with ESL announces a $205,000 European tournament
With a total prize money of €160,000 (about $205,000) and a €110,000 (about $141,000) just for CS, Intel and ESL may have just announced the major European tournament for the 2007 season.

24 participants will play for the biggest prize purse ever in an all European tournament sponsored by Intel in an impressive move to promote their Core 2 Extreme processors. Never has an online tournament announced such an important cash purse and this move might make many European teams who have been boycotting online leagues re-evaluate their decision.
The Finals however will be played on LAN as well as a couple of "Intel Friday Night Games" which will be organized across Europe in Hamburg, Paris, Stockholm and London with €10,000 (about $13,000) in event bonuses.

More details can be found in the next page along with the official Statement on the ESL website.
