Counter-Strike: entex inactive, seven adds WarDrake

Seven has just announced the addition of Vignir "WarDrake" Vignisson, and has benched Friđrik "entex" Kristjánsson.
The Icelandic side was keen to let Kristjánsson go due his distance, almost six hours away, from the rest of the team. This, they felt, could jeopardise the team's goals for 2007. With an intense practice schedule planned for the upcoming months, this issue led to the benching of Kristjánsson.

"We will attend three big international events in the next six months," said Andri “andrig” Gunnarsson, Seven's team leader. With him living six hours away, it would be difficult for us to have the ammount of practice we wanted at our Seven LANcenter."

To take his place, the Icelandic team decided to add Vignir "WarDrake" Vignisson. Despite the upheaval that this move may cause in the national scene, due to the longtime rivalry between Vignisson and Birgir “spike” Águstsson, the former MurK and Drake member was the perfect choice to replace Kristjánsson.

"WarDrake and Spike were well known rivals, more like enemies," said Gunnarsson. "However, we were able to ensure that these members made something like a peace treaty before this move. WarDrake hasn't been playing with a real clan since Drake's inactivity, although he practiced almost daily since that day. He is a very good ingame player, his motivation speeches are amazing."

With these changes, Seven plans on recovering from the team's past results, which were, in Gunnarsson's opinion, somewhat inconsistent.

"Our latest Eurocup results were quite random so to speak, we had some good matches versus teams like alltherage and astralis, whom we both beat, but lost some matches versus teams like a-Losers and fnatic," said Gunnarsson."We have shown that we can beat some top teams and that we can also lose against them. We definitely have teh potential, otherwise we wouldn't spend a lot of money on our travelling for 2006/2007."

Regarding the international events, Gunnarsson revealed that the team plans on attending the British WSVG event, CPL Winter and the 2007 edition of shgOpen.

These changes leave Seven with the following roster:

Iceland Andri “andrig” Gunnarsson
Iceland Birgir “spike” Águstsson
Iceland Brynjar Páll “denos” Jóhannsson
Iceland Guđmundur Helgi “roMim” Jónsson
Iceland Vignir “WarDrake” Vignisson

Iceland Friđrik "entex" Kristjánsson (inactive)
