(Germany) - The Intel Core 2 Extreme Masters Counter Strike tournament
is about to get underway with an inaugural event at the Games Convention 2006 in Leipzig, Germany. The first season of the Intel Core 2 Extreme Masters was announced by the Electronic Sports League with a prize amount of over $200,000. The series is designed to attract top European
CS and Warcraft players. This first mini-tournament is part of the Swedish national qualifier. 12 teams will be chosen from national rankings and 12 teams will be chosen from national qualifiers for a total of 24 teams in the Intel Core 2 Extreme Masters main round.

Three prestigious Swedish CS teams have gathered to compete in this mini-tournament to be the first team to qualify for the Masters. The winning team receives a slot for the main round of Intel Core 2 Extreme Masters by ESL.
