Stuart Brooks, live from WEG2 in Korea, brings us his predicitions for today's week2 matches. Stay tuned to GotFrag (particularly "brooks") as he shares with us his experiences in Korea.

Stuart Brook's WEG2 Predicitions

Catch-Gamer
(0-0-0)

vs.

Project
(0-1-0)

The main thing with this match is: can Project learn from the mistakes they made during the GamerCo match? They really had them reeling after they won the 2nd round save and the subsequent three rounds. They had done a very nice job of picking one of the GamerCo players off and then rotating all together to frag another. Starting on the 6th round, it seemed they had abandoned that strategy all together and just attacked in a mass group. You can't do that against a top team in the world like GamerCo. Their aim alone can stop a rush. If Project can do what they did in the first 5 rounds against GamerCo, Catch-Gamer could be in trouble, especially on a map like inferno. Catch-Gamer could be called one of the favorites coming into WEG2, as they have had some good showings at tournaments. These lovable Norwegians possess some of the best skills in Europe, but I think one of the things in question is if they can keep up a practice regimen like some of the other teams and really develop as a cohesive unit. They have shown what they can do in Europe, but it still has to be seen how well they can play against the Asian teams. The Asian teams are the X factor when it comes to WEG2, no one knows how good they are. Catch-Gamer > Project 13-8 on de_inferno

AbitStrike
(1-0-0)

vs.

Astralis
(0-0-0)

Abit played a very good game against an mTw that was unprepared due to a roster shakeup less than a week before WEG2. Abit really showed why they got invited back this season. They played very well showing great game sense, rotating pretty much exactly when they needed it, and they definitely possess great individual skill. Astralis has been tearing it up around in the practice scrims and accusations of being online have been running rampant. If I have one thing to say about Astralis is that they are a very good team on nuke. The members of Astralis have time and time again shown dominance against very good teams on nuke. They have very solid T strats that have worked at the past two CPL's (under D-Sky or Astralis) against many different opponents. If they can jump out with a lead early on, they won't look back and take this match. AbitStrike > Astralis 13-11

Pentagram
(1-0-0)

vs.

4kings
(0-0-0)

Pentagram got a disappointing win against EG on nuke last week. They are stand-up guys, wanting to replay the match after the flash bug incident. Pentagram definitely wants to compete while here at WEG2. They had some success at the Samsung Euro Championship winning the event against SK-Gaming. They definitely have a chance to show some more of that match prowess against the reigning 2nd place team from last season. On de_dust2, it really is anyone's match here and if they can win at least one of the pistols, they have a good shot at getting an upset. 4Kings is coming back to WEG2 after an impressive first season at WEG, placing 2nd. They have a similar roster from last season, but the main difference is the addition of Element. He is the X factor for 4K as he can bring another dimension to their game. 4K has some very talented players in their midst. On paper, this match is an almost certain win for 4K, but anything can happen when you bring 12 of the best teams in the world for a month long tournament. 4Kings > Pentagram 13-7

Team NoA
(0-1-0)

vs.

wNv
(0-0-0)

NoA really showed that they came into WEG2 unprepared for this tournament. I think the longer they stay in this season, the stronger they will get. NoA has big name talent in all 5 of their players, but they need to acquire the chemistry to go along with that talent. Nuke has shown to be one of NoA's best maps, beating some great teams. If they can't solve some of the communication issues on their strategies, being sent home is a very real possibility for them. This is a win or go home situation for NoA. wNv is also coming back for their 2nd time around at WEG. What most teams remember about wNv is the forfeit match they had against GamerCo for screen cheating last season. Don't let that fool you, this team wouldn't be here if they weren't a talented squad. I'm not exactly sure how good wNv is on nuke, but I know they are a strong team and have a very good chance at winning this game. This will be one of the most exciting matches to watch on game day. NoA > wNv 13-9

Pretty good predictions. I think the "upsets" will be Abitstrike over Astralis and Penagram over 4K.

noa is "unprepared" because of the need to get a last minute stand-in in order to attend with less than 3 days before we had to go to korea.
