Counter-Strike: Echo7 picks up punkvillE

By: hyeng kim - Published November 02, 2006 at 3:46 PM EST - Writer Archive
The CEVO-Professional team Echo7 has recently added Josh “punkvillE” Dacus to their lineup.
Echo7, who currently competes in CEVO’s CS 1.6 Professional Division and CAL’s CS 1.6 Premier Division, has picked up Josh “punkvillE” Dacus from teams such as TAU, MNM, viGor, and NPU. With the addition of Dacus, the team may have finally gained the extra push to win the close matches they have been losing in CEVO-P.

Dacus contacted echo7 prior to the DigitalLife 2006 tournament in October, and the team decided to start him after the event.

"I asked a while back, before they were going to Digital Life, and they wanted to keep the same line up for the tourny," said Dacus. "But, afterwards i would jump in the starting line up."

Although Dacus lives in Texas and the rest of Echo7 is on the East Coast, it will not really affect the team regarding practices. Echo7 can play on Texas servers and punkvillE can play on the East Coast servers without major lag issues. The next major event that the team will attend is the Pre-CPL Lethal Gamers and the CPL, which are both in Texas. They will concentrate on practicing for these events and hope to place well.

The starting five for Echo7 is now:

United States Karl “RaveNplZ” Radovan
United States Jason “beerz” Stanford
United States Patris “eight” Almasi
United States Richard “xeet” Johnston
United States Josh “punkvillE” Dacus
United States Jeff “affliction” Maher (Backup)
