Russian Counter-Strike scene shakes things up; TRAP becomes x4team, CSKA emerges.
x4team has returned to the Russian competitive Counter-Strike scene once more, acquiring the team TRAP. While little has been heard from this team as of yet, former x4team players, such as Evgeniy "400kg" Gapchenko, will be rejoining the organization they left in early May 2006. With this move, though, Viktor "Sally" Filimonichenko has decided to leave for CSKA. In his stead, x4team has readded Ilya "Shade" Lukin. In early August, the team still known as TRAP released him along with two others following a poor performance at the Russian WCG qualifier.

In a statement released to ProPlay.ru, Lukin described how he was invited to play for CSKA, only to be denied later. In need of a fifth, x4team extended an invitation to him to join the team, and he accepted their offer.

"I know every player in this team very well and I'm sure that we will succeed," said Lukin. "We plan to take part in GigaGames and ASUS Autumn Moscow Qualifier."

The x4team roster is comprised of:

Russia Vladimir "redman" Tarasov (Leader)
Russia Ilya "Shade" Lukin
Russia Evgeniy "400kg" Gapchenko
Russia Dmitry "blade" Zemsky
Russia Ruslan "Tank" Abbiasov

Also, a new team has emerged in the Russian Counter-Strike scene. Headed by Viktor "Sally" Filimonichenko, little information has been released about this team. Of Filimonichenko leaving TRAP/x4team for CSKA, the team's manager made clear that the organization made Filimonichenko very comfortable as a member of the team.

"We have created very good conditions for the players and for my old friend," said Oleg "Killa" Vachrameev, CSKA's manager. "But it does not mean that [Filimonichenko] has come to us because of friendship."

The CSKA team roster includes:
Russia Sally
Russia hAZARd
Russia Water
Russia gans
Russia Dio
