By: Jason Loadholt - Published December 01, 2006 at 1:26 AM EST - Writer Archive
The fourth season of CEVO's professional division will conclude this weekend in a two day event. Will Complexity grab their third CEVO championship in four seasons? Or will JMC rise to the occasion once again to reclaim their title? Check inside for a full preview!

On Saturday, December 2nd, the CEVO Professional's fourth season playoffs begin. After the success of last season's playoffs, CEVO has decided that a two day double elimination tournament format is the best route to determine their champion, and will be utilizing that format once again.

Complexity is looking for their third CEVO championship in four seasons while JMC looks to hold onto their crown. After last season's debacle including EG and Ola "element" Moum, CEVO has stated no ringers will be allowed during this season's playoffs.

United States Desire, Discipline, Dedication
Ron "Rambo" Kim
Josh "Dominator" Sievers
Mikey "method" So
Griffin "shaGuar" Benger
Sal "Volcano" Garozzo

Currently ranked 2nd in CEVO, 3D has had a successful regular season. Though most of their season was put on hold for World Cyber Games events, 3D returned to CEVO to take down their rival, Complexity. Though Dave "moto" Geffon has been missing in action, Ron "Rambo" Kim has been no slouch in actively calling strategies while remaining a consistent player.

The team's support alongside Kim's leadership makes them one of the most dangerous teams in North America. Constantly switching things up, 3D is one of the most unpredictable teams to compete in CEVO. It seems that 3D has grown stronger on Inferno lately, and has been working hard to round themselves out on each map. 3D is still looking for their first CEVO championship after many close opportunities.

Player to watch: Griffin "shaGuar" Benger

One of the oldest players still competing, Benger needs no introduction. Benger's ability to AWP on offense is one of the rarities in Counter-Strike. When combined with his early round rifle frags, look out for Benger to be leading 3D in frags going into round two.

What has your team been doing differently, if anything, to prepare themselves for the CEVO Playoff tournament?

Ronald "Rambo" Kim: "We have been putting more emphasis into how we execute [strategies]. As far as preparing for CEVO playoffs, we have been practicing hard for the upcoming tournaments and hope to see that practice coming into play."

Who does 3D look forward to playing most in the playoffs?

Ronald "Rambo" Kim: "We look forward to playing some good games and coming out with a win."

Where do you see 3D at the end of the tournament?

Ronald "Rambo" Kim: "Hopefully we will be clicking as a team and as a player come match time, and in the finals."

If we see 3D in the finals, who would you want your opponent to be? What map will you choose?

Ronald "Rambo" Kim: "I don't really care who is in the finals with us, because its usually the deserving team. "I just hope we are playing good and dont beat ourselves."

3D had no comment on their map of choice.
