Counter-Strike: CEVO hosts qualifiers for WSVG All-Star Tournament

CyberEvolution will be hosting qualifiers for the WSVG All-Star tournament.
New York, NY – December 14th, 2006

The World Series of Video Games presented by Intel (WSVG), the first international video game competition circuit for multiple game platforms, today announced it has signed a deal with CEVO to present online qualifiers for the All-Star Festival held at the International Consumer Electronics Show on January 8-11.

The tournament, which is presented by Intel, will feature two game categories each in a 128 team, single-elimination format. CounterStrike 1.6 will be presented by Intel, and ATI Radeon™ Graphics will sponsor the Quake 4 qualifiers.

The winner of each online tournament will win an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas during the Consumer Electronic Show to go up against the reigning champions of the World Series of Video Games, Toxic (Quake 4) and Alternate Attax (CounterStrike 1.6), crowned in New York last weekend.

Registration for the qualifiers is open from December 15th-22nd, the tournament will be held from Dec 26th-29th. and coverage of the online tournament will be provided on-line by The Team Sportscast Network (TSN).

In its inaugural year, the WSVG has launched a global pro-gaming circuit that spans from Asia to Europe and the Americas. The WSVG has attracted the attention of multiple television programmers. In 2006, the WSVG has generated 20 hours of Television programming that has or will appear on VOOM’s GAMEPLAY HD, CSTV (Sundays at 9pm beginning on Jan 21st 2007), MTV and CBS (Dec 30th at 3pm).
