Canadian top team Evil Geniuses has just confirmed the removal of Jimmy Lin. Shortly after joining EG, Lin helped his team achieve the bronze at the WCG Finals in 2005, whereas in 2006, the Canadian team consider the results achieved "disappointing, to say the least." The team saw the need to make some roster changes after a year that wasn't the most successful. After an internal discussion, EG decided to remove Lin from the team so that it could further in 2007. "It always sucks to see one of your friends leave, especially after over 2 years of being on the same team and travelling around the world together. But his departure came on really good terms, and I really believe that down the line it's going to be the best move for both sides. I think both our team and jimmy needed a change, and I am pretty happy of what we were able to put together on such short notice," said Pasha "Red Dragon" Lari, player in EG. ![]() Evil Geniuses has already chosen its new fifth player, who will be announced in the near future. The Canadian side has high hopes for its 2007 team as it believes to have "the best EG lineup ever constructed, in terms of skill, chemistry, and most importantly, work ethic." According to Lari, the new fifth may be American or Canadian, it solely depends on who is the best piece for the team. Evil Geniuses has already commented on the changes that may come in 2007. The team is ready to take a step toward the "evolution of eSports", namely adapting itself to the changes that will happen in the Counter-Strike scene with the DirecTV Championship Gaming Series and CSPromod. This said, Evil Geniuses has now the following team: Pasha "Red Dragon" Lari Matt "bl00dsh0t" Stevenson Robert "blackpanther" Tyndale Ian Royle |

good luck
it's either that or i have deja vu for some odd reason.
if you actually LOOK at his performances vs. top teams at major, non-qualifying lan events in the past year, you'll see how OBVIOUS it is that lin is FAR from carrying EG. don't believe me? look at this, a listing of EG's lan matches vs. top teams in the past year and where lin finished on the scoareboard in each.
CPL Winter 2005:
-EG > u5 (3rd)
-EG < Begrip (4th)

ESWC 2006:
-EG < aftermath (3rd)
-EG < nip (last)
-EG < 3d (first)
Intel Summer Championships 2006:

-EG < 4K (2nd)
Digital Life 2006:
-EG < Pandemic (3rd)
-EG < Pandemic (4th)
-EG > Flow (4th)
-EG > Flow (last)
-EG > e7 (2nd)
-EG > e7 (3rd)
WCG Grand Finals 2006:

EG < NiP (2nd)
EG < NiP (3rd)
CPL Winter 2006:

**DONT BELIEVE ME? CHECK GAMESENSE YOURSELF**
hmm... so lets see. out of all of EG's major lan matches this year against good teams (21 if am correct?), lin finished first on the scoreboard a whopping THREE times. once every SEVEN matches. yeah, REALLY carrying EG in matches that matter. beyond that lin's average place on the scoreboard comes out to be THIRD. (check it yourself). also, two of the three matches he was first in on the scoreboard eg ended up losing. so, hmm... one match out of 21 where he actually "carried" EG in a way.
so to all the idiots who keep saying that EG is dumb for letting lin go and he carries them blah blah, maybe just MAYBE eg knows what they're talking about cause its thier team.
two other things i noticed here... lin is totally avg on lan but still has great overall gamesense.. HELLO ONLINE. and also, lol, horrible year for EG, only six major lan match wins and they were vs. u5, flow (twice), e7 (twice), and nip. so basically one good win in a year lol. they really do need a roster change. better hope they get shag.
3 first + 3 last = 0
5 2nd + 3 4th = 2nd wins
=> the average of games being one the top 2 players > the average of games being of the last 2 players. This means that EG needs to drop two other players "worst" before taking Lin out.
Frag statistics doesn't reflect people's skill cause killing a full team when they are eco is much easier than killing 2 people in a normal round.
Stop looking at statistics, Lin was the only guy "for me" in EG capable of making a difference against great players when it comes to skill.
Not LiN!!

I was being sarcastic with my previous comment too. It was blatantly obvious something just wasnt working for them. This is the change they want, so wish them luck and lets see who they pick up.
