Counter-Strike: Gamers.nu swoop for edepol

By: Luis Mira - Published February 12, 2007 at 1:42 PM EST - Writer Archive
Gamers.nu have completed the signing of Edepol Counter-Strike squad.
The Scandinavian gaming website had announced the demise of the CS team in November 2004, following a lack of first rate results due to a wave of internal problems.

More than two years after the end of the team that had, among others, players such as Jonas "Calippo" Nilsson or Harley “dsn” Örwall, Gamers.Nu scoured the market for a new Swedish team that could scale great heights and represent the website's name in a proper way.

"The major reason for recruiting a new team is because we felt like something was missing in Gamers.nu, if it was a team, only time will tell. But I have all confidence in this roster," Kristoffer "Coyote" Hedlund, head administrator of Gamers.nu, told GotFrag.com.

The Swedish squad were recently seen disputing some online tournaments, where they were able to beat teams like aAa or Praetoriani, a proof of the team's quality, according to Hedlund.

Gamers.nu will have a showmatch tomorrow, February 13th, against the German giant ALTERNATE aTTaX, at 21.00 CET.

This said, Gamers.nu have now the following roster:

Sweden Kristoffer "faken" Andersson
Sweden Niklas "pxr" Holtäng
Sweden Mathias "seAzon" Clausen
Sweden Adam "adde" Sundlöv
Sweden Erik "zeki" Mattsson
