Counter-Strike: MYM remove female team

By: Luis Mira - Published March 12, 2007 at 6:53 PM EST - Writer Archive
Meet Your Makers have confirmed the removal of the female Counter-Strike squad.
The female team had been announced in mid-July, shortly before the ESWC tournament, a decision justified by Mark Peter Fries, CEO in MYM, due to the organisation's desire to invest in a growing market.

However, shortly after the event, MYM's female squad suffered the loss of the Danish gamer Kirstine "kirstine" Olsen due to communication problems and has been unable to find a good fifth ever since, which is the reason why Meet Your Makers decided to part ways with the organisation.

"After the ESWC, we were only four players, so we had to find a new fifth, which was very hard. And we couldn't find "the one", which made it impossible for us to continue," Nathalia "Talin" Bjerknes told GotFrag.com.

Despite Meet Your Makers' decision, the female players do not criticize the choice that was today confirmed, as they feel it was pointless to be under MYM's wings if they weren't representing the organisation in tournaments.

However, Bjerknes revealed that the four gamers will no longer play together in a new team.

"We won't continue playing together. We will go separate ways and see where it leads."

Meet Your Makers' female team was as follows:

Sweden Anna "aNNa" Nordlander
Sweden Malin "Malla" Öhman
Denmark Sofie "zeleNa" Sandager
Norway Nathalia "Talin" Bjerknes
